Le Relais is situated on the edge of a delightful and quiet village, surrounded by glorious countryside of sunflowers, cornfields and woods, a nature lovers paradise. This lovingly restored 12th century Country post house has all you need for a perfect, relaxing holiday. You can go walking, fishing, beaches, canoe, play golf or tennis, dine out, all within 10 mins. The attractive, enclosed garden provides peace and tranquillity as well as areas for games and activities. Both, a paved area beneath a shady pergola and a sunny terrace, are ideal for alfresco meals.There is a very large, airy dining room (62m2) with a piano, seats 24, a spacious salon, comfortably furnished and with plenty of books, opening onto a Perigordian balcony and a large, well equipped farmhouse kitchen. Le Relais is approximately 5 km from both St.Severin and Aubeterre, the 'jewel of the Charente'. The wine regions of Bordeaux, St.Emilion/Pomerol and Cognac are not very far and well worth a visit!

    During mid and low season smaller groups are welcome for a reduced rate.
    Please pay 25% of total rent as a Non Refundable Deposit to secure your booking.
    Balance is required 8 weeks prior to arrival date with a £350 Refundable Security Deposit.
    Linen and towels are provided. Change Over Days Saturday to Saturday. Arrival at 5pm and departure at 10am.

Great house - ideal for a big family with kids even the very young or a group of friends. Barbara was extremely helpful and friendly. I cannot recommend this house and area highly enough.

Our family reunion.

Our family consisting of 11 members including three small children had a wonderful time in Le Relais. The swimmingpool and barbecue were used intensely and we had most of our meals in the garden. We enjoyed the landscape around Pillac`and visited villages in the neighbourhood. Le Relais is the ideal place for a familygathering, but as I noticed also great and romantic to celebrate a wedding as the big and lovely house is located close to a little old church and during our stay an English couple with weddingplans visited the house, the church and the old villageschool, now in use as mairerie/townhall. We hope to come back in the near future as we love it there. Janny
I would like te add that I as a building engineer, I really appreciated the way the old house with alterrations was restored. One could see the old structure of the original house with beams and walls which shows that this was done with great love and dedication. My compliments! Hans.

For a relaxing and authentic stay in France!

Friends had recommended Le Relais and it turned out to be one of our favorite of all the properties we have stayed in over the past years. We were a group of 21 (12 adults and 9 children) from New Zealand, UK and Ireland, meeting up for a family reunion.

On arrival, Barbara, the owner greeted us warmly and explained us the details and facilities of the house and when we needed her she was only a phone call away, ready to help (even baby-sitting!)

Le Relais is spacious, clean and tidy and the kitchen well equipped. There was much on offer in the area, Golf and Tennis only 5 min. drive away, but the youngsters just wanted to spend the day by the pool.

For my dad’s 70th Birthday celebration Barbara arranged for us a delicious and incredibly inexpensive main course, cooked by a local butcher. Next time we stay, we will use this service from the beginning!

We have no hesitation to recommend Le Relais to our friends and we will definitely be back.

Good family break

We choose this place as it was quite a central meeting point for the members of our family (spread out across different corners of Europe), and because its such a big and peaceful homely sort of house. Perfect for a family reunion. Not too far from Bergerac or Angouleme (so cheap flights for all).

The house is an old, beautiful big place (I think its a farm conversion?). Lots of rooms, huge dinning area, and a very family friendly sort of feel to the place. The pool area is fenced off so we didn't need to worry about the kids too much. Oh also there's two old wells on the property (both have a fence inside).

The owner is easy going and accommodating, fluent in English and non intrusive. Lovely lady.

I recommend this place for large groups, family / friend reunions and for people who want to get away from it all.

We didn't go out to any restaurants (went to a bar on a square in Aubeterre twice for some drinks). We preferred to stay in and cook our own meals, BBQ, etc. The house is surrounded by vineyards and gentle hills - great place to go for walks.

All in all it was exactly what we wanted!

Perfect retreat

We took our family and friends to "Le Relais" and had the most relaxing and pleasant time.
There were 22 of us in the group and we never felt on top of one another.

The surrounding area is beautiful with chateaus and vineyards nearby, we recommend visiting St Emilion.
We also drove to the coast which took us around 2 hours.

If you want to eat out or go for a drink, Aubeterre is a cute little village nearby. We really enjoyed the atmosphere there.

The house itself is a beautiful old house with walls almost a metre thick in places and large exposed beams.
The kitchen big and sociable and the dinning room was big enough for all of us.
The bedrooms are of good size and kept very clean.
The garden is mature and well maintained.
The pool area is child friendly with a fence surrounding it.

The owner Barbara was very accommodating and friendly.

We will definitely return there and have recommended it to many friends already, some of whom have been and enjoyed it just as much as we have.
