Photos and Description of this London holiday house 3 mins to St Pancras tube & Eurostar or walk to British Museum, shops & sights.

Live like a Londoner and stay in Central London. This residential street is central, (3 minutes walk to St Pancras tube & Eurostar, 8 minutes British Library, 20 mins British Museum), but also quiet and tucked away from the crowds. The Victorian house has been restored to retain its 1830s features but fully modernised to include an architect-designed kitchen, luxury bathroom with steam room and landscaped patio garden. Recently decorated by an interior designer, it offers modern furnishings, original artwork and a library of books, DVDs and videos. Spread over four floors, it has three bedrooms (double bed in each), large bathroom, shower-room and two living rooms, each with an armchair that converts to a single bed. You have private access to a large communal garden at the back of the house, shared with neighbours but inaccessible and invisible to the public. This is a haven for adults and children, providing a safe space to play and a peaceful place to relax after a day's sightseei

Further details for this holiday house rental in London, United Kingdom

Kings Cross-St Pancras Transformation: St Pancras is a lively, bustling area with many restaurants, bars and cafes including the longest champagne bar in Europe (in the Gothic St Pancras International station). You will find a guide to local restaurants and shops in the house. The area has seen a great deal of development in recent years and visitors who remember Kings Cross-St Pancras from days gone by will be surprised at its transformation. Victorian canalside warehouses have been restored to house new apartments, restaurants and bars and crumbling industrial buildings have been swept away to make way for new hi-tech offices, shops, art galleries (including the cutting-edge Gagosian Gallery) and Kings Place, a new concert hall that is home to the London Sinfonietta and offers concerts and cultural events nightly. The British Library is a 5 minute walk away - treasures include Mozart scores, Beatles lyrics, Shakespeare First Folio and Magna Carta (1215).

Getting Here - By Air: It is an easy journey from London Heathrow to the house, as the local tube (subway) station Kings Cross-St Pancras runs directly to the airport with a journey time of 50-60 mins depending on the time of day. From there it's a 3 minute walk to the house. From other London airports (Gatwick, Stansted, Luton or City airports), you can take the train into the centre of London and make a short tube or taxi journey to the house. We will send you full directions when you book.

Getting Here - By Rail: Balfe St is a 5 minute walk from the mainline station, St Pancras International where the Eurostar service from Paris and Brussels now departs. Kings Cross Station is 3 minutes away (trains to Cambridge, York and Edinburgh) and Euston Station is a 10 minute walk away. It is a short bus or tube ride from London Bridge (bus 17 or Northern Line on the tube), Victoria and Waterloo stations. Paddington Station is a tube ride away along the Circle tube line. If you have any questions about the apartment, the local area or London generally, please get in touch by email or phone. Price quoted includes VAT (sales tax), linen, towels, heating & lighting and cleaning. There are no hidden extras to pay.

Other Activities: Shopping (Oxford St, Regent St, Knightsbridge), theatre, world class museums, art galleries, historic places of interest (Tower of London, St Paul's)

Great location, and nice house

Review Submitted: November 3, 2009 Date of Stay: October 2009
We stayed here for a week and loved the location and the house. For a large family we had lots of room. We were able to walk only a few blocks and took a train to Paris. It was a quick way to see Paris and after a long day it was just a short walk home. We have stayed in London many times at high end hotels. We liked the house better because it save alot of money on food. There is a store a half a block away. The neighborhood has some very nice resturants too.

A London Attraction in its own right

Review Submitted: June 16, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
We found more than a house, we found a home away from home. London is so hectic it is just great to arrive and immediately feel at home.
The house is full of wonderful books and movies. You will never be bored. Staying at home was just as much fun as exploring London.

The area is very convenient and safe, 5min walk from Kings Cross Station with Tesco shopping center along the way.

I was sorry to have to leave.

Wonderful House - Great Location

Review Submitted: May 19, 2009 Date of Stay: May 2009
We enjoyed our stay at Balfe Str. and recommend it to everyone. We were a family of 5 adults and 4 kids. The house was very nice – clean. The furniture was comfortable and the kitchen was very modern and all equipped. The garden was the kids favourite place.
The tube was only 5 minutes walk so it was perfect for our sightseeing tours.A Tesco Metro was 2 mins down the road so we never got hungry !
The house was filled with books and DVDs you want to watch but we never had the time.
Well at the end it feels like your own home. Thanks for the stay and hope we will come back again
