This snug and charming 500 year old Cottage is situated in the centre of the bustling village of Whalley and has been fully modernized to provide excellent, cosy holiday accommodation. Built with stones, beams and corbels from nearby Whalley Abbey. Very comfortably furnished the cottage is fully double glazed and retains much of its original character with flagged floors and exposed roof timbers in the bedroom. Whalley boasts Cistercian Abbey ruins and a 13th century church for those wanting to discover more about the local history.

  • The prices are yearly and do not change Seasonally.

    The rental prices are for 2 people.

    Extra adults (16 years and over) are charged a nominal fee of £8 per night. For one week the price for each extra person is £56.

    Charges per amount of Nights stayed are as follows.

    3 Nights are £65 per Night - Full price for 3 Nights is £195.

    4 Nights are £60 per Night - Full price for 4 Nights is £240.

    5 Nights are £55 per Night - Full price for 5 Nights is £275.

    6 and 7 Nights are the same price of £50 per Night. Periods of stay longer than a week are also priced at £50 per Night.

    A set of Bed linen and towels are supplied and an extra set of Bed linen is £20.

    A Deposit of £50 is required to complete the Booking. Details will be supplied of where to send this to and the amount owing when the owners are contacted through Holiday Rentals.
  • There is a minimum stay policy of 3 Nights.

    Please note: The owners request that Arriving Guests accommodate the Cottage not before 16:30 and Departing Guests vacant the Cottage by 10:30. If this is not possible please let the owners know and a solution will be found.

Notes: A King Sized Sofa Bed can be found in the Lounge. The Lounge:has a T.V. and Free View Sky which is unable to be seen in the Lounge photo. The Lounge also has a large Dresser with all the China-ware and cutlery needed. There is also a Gas Fired stove that is a replica of a true coal burning stove in the Lounge . The view from the Lounge is looking on the Kings Street (watching the passers by is sometimes as good as watching the T.V. The Kitchen is equipped with a Fridge Freezer, Dishwasher, Washing machine, Oven with Grill and Halogen 4 Ring Hob. Also in the Kitchen can be found a Toaster, a Kettle, Saucepans and Fryingpans and all the Cups, Saucers, plates and cutlery needed. Kitchen towels and washing up towels are supplied. At the back of the Cottage is a Garden Bench and small yard that leads on to a back street.

With the Nab Hill very close by at the Cottages end of King Street, this is an ideal base for both walkers and tourists with plenty of good local walks throughout the immediate area and the Pendle Hill only a short drive away. Whalley has its own Cistercian Abbey which the Cottage is built from. Clitheroe is just 3 miles away and there is easy access to all the other delights of the Ribble Valley, with the Yorkshire Dales and West Coast both within easy driving distance. The Rail service which has a station in Whalley and the bus service's are excellent and you could quite happily just use the local services to get from scenic treat to another and back home again with out the need to rent a car.

Accommodation: Ground floor - Lounge with a 3 seater Sprung-base Sofa Bed and dinning table and chairs, Fitted Kitchen with Microwave, Toaster, Oven with Grill, Hallogen4 Ring Hob. automatic Washing Machine, Tumble Dryer, Dishwasher, Fridge/Freezer. Shower Room with Shower Cubical, Toilet and Basin. First Floor - 1 Double Bedroom. and plenty of storage space.

A little gem of a place

We have just returned from a short stay at OHSO Snug and it really is a lovely cottage. Absolutely immaculate inside and very well fitted out. Great shower room, very well-equipped kitchen and a comfortable bed. It's a great location too - about 200 yards from a fantastic Italian restaurant, with a local supermarket around the corner and not forgetting the lovely lunches in the Abbey. All in all, it far exceeded our expectations and we can highly recommend it.

Another very pleasant stay

I stayed here for 5 nights whilst on a course locally.
The cottage is ideal for one person or a couple as it is small but perfectly formed!
All furnishings are to a very high standard, the bed is extremely comfy, all things you might require are there - even umbrellas in case of poor weather
The location is very central and an easy walk to shops, fish and chip shop and restaurants
I felt safe and snug and am looking forward to my visit in November

A reminder of times past.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at “Ohso-snug”! The cottage was warm and very comfortable. The high quality of the fittings and furnishings really made it a home from home. Whalley has everything one needs, from groceries to excellent restaurants and lovely pubs with wonderful food. And of course the Abbey and church are a reminder of times past. We would certainly return to this beautiful, and secret, corner of England.

OHSO SNUG COTTAGE, WHALLEY

This cottage is conveniently situated in High Street, Whalley, surrounded by the beautiful Lancashire countryside. There are many interesting places to visit and lovely walks. Whalley has many eating places and a convenient local store. The cottage, though small, is warm and comfortable with everything you need for a great holiday.

Relaxed and comfy

We stayed for a short break. We found the cottage extremely comfy. It is very well furnished and everything has been thought of in terms of supplies - there was contingency for if you had forgotten anything (eg washing up liquid, shampoo)
The decor is very pleasant and the furnishings high quality - immacuately clean. The bed was very comfy and there was an excellent powerful shower. The kitchen and bathroom were high quality
We had a lovely time there and would go back
Note the position on the road does not make it the quietest place but it was not particuarly noisy
Owner's Response: It is true that "OHSO SNUG" can be a bit noisy during peak times as it is situated next to the road. Being next to the road does have its advantages though in that the pavement outside the Cottage is very wide and is available for anyone staying at "OHSO SNUG" to park, so if it is not such a nice day you are in the car within seconds and ready to go.
