Trepen is an individual house in a very special location looking up at St Hilarion Crusader castle on the lower slopes of the Kyrenias. From an elevated position above the village of Edremit, it offers both privacy and outstanding views of the coast from the West to the Karpaz in the East, with the Kyrenia Mountains as a backdrop. Edremit village has a shop, cafe/pub and a smart bar/restaurant. The house was completed in 2005 and many traditional Cyprus features have been incorporated, including a stone fireplace, marble floors, large balconies and Cyprus arches. It is fully equipped, has air conditioners/heaters and ceiling fans. There is a large and very private overflow swimming pool (10x5m) with outside shower and BBQ. A choice of sun or shade is available at the pool or on the balconies. An attractive stone wall surrounds the property and the mature landscaped gardens.

4 miles from Kyrenia and 1 from karaoglanoglu where there are 2 supermarkets. There are over 350 restaurants in the North, most serve good food at the right price. Bring UK pounds with you and change to Turkish Lira here. Spectacular Paragliding now takes place from the Kyrenia Mountain above the house!. Some guests thoroughly recommend it!. Places to visit: Kyrenia,its ancient castle and the lovely harbour. Bellapaise Abbey. The Crusader Castles, St Hilarion (you see the Queens window from our pool) Bufavento,& Kantara, The ancient ruins of Salamis and Famagusta to the East and the Roman ruins of Soli & villa at Vouni to the West. The turtle hatchery project. The Karpaz, with its wild donkeys,Monastery & long sandy beaches. Old Nicosia, now has a walkway (passport) to the South. The nearest sandy beach (Kervanseray) is 1½ mile. It is a charming bay with some good cafe / restaurants. Within 13 miles either side of Kyrenia there are many good beaches. Also Casinos! & smart hotels.

  • Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds.
    Negotiable discounts for longer winter lets. Changeover day
    Flexible, providing there is time to clean between lets. A deposit of 30% is required at the time of booking. The balance is due 8 weeks before arrival plus a £200 refundable breakages deposit, refunded after leaving. Please take out normal travel insurance against cancellation, accident and loss. The owners are not liable for accidents occurring on the property. The following Cancellation charges are applied: Up to 8 weeks before arrival the deposit is lost; between 55 & 29 days 60% of total cost; less than 29 days 100% of total cost.
  • All bed linen, bathroom and kitchen towels are provided (but NOT including beach towels). House and linen will be clean on arrival. Extra cleaning and laundry is available - prices on request. A small complimentary welcome pack & a next day courtesy visit are provided. .Ercan airport is situated in the North and is approx 1 hours drive. Larnaca airport is in the South and takes about 90 mins. You are now allowed to cross the border (with passport), but a car hired in the South is not permitted to drive in the North. Better to hire a taxi in the North to collect you from Larnaca and hire a car in the North (we can assist). Flights to Larnaca are usually more frequent from European airports.

Only two weeks, should have booked more. Secluded but accessible and near to all activities, Kyrenia about 12-15mins drive. Trepen really is as good as it looks, spacious, clean, modern, and with fantastic views with the beautiful coast in the distance, backed by wonderful mountain views. Fortunate to have met Trevor and Penny whilst there, a warm and knowledgable couple always ready to help and inform, but not intrusive. The Turkish community is always helpful and respectful and seem genuinely interested in you. An excellent choice for a relaxed vacation.

3 Weeks of relaxation

Find it hard to believe that no-one has written a review on this villa already,
The villa is in the perfect location for the most relaxing holiday you will ever have, can honestly say we have stop at some 10 plus villa’s in North Cyprus and for relaxation and privacy this villa will be very hard to beat. The views are fantastic to say the least, the pool is very private and not overlooked from any angle, did have a problem with pool turning green towards end of our 3 week stay, but Trevor & Penny have sorted this problem, the villa has loads of room if you wish to be alone for a while to take in the views, read a book or just day dream (did loads of that) the guest book goes on about the cat that comes and say’s hi not much in the book about the dogs, 2 dogs come and sleep by the front door at night all we can say is don’t leave anything out at night, the dogs find everything yummy, would book again for 2009 but need an extra bedroom on this visit due to all the kids coming, but we will be back to this wonderful villa very soon. Penny / Trevor a DVD player would be good for winter stay's.

Owner's Response: Glad Ian Gill & Family enjoyed their restful time in Trepen Villa in August 2008. We have advised all guests via the information pack, not to feed the local ferral cats, they are charming but always a nuisance when fed. Similarly, there is no problem with dogs if the gate is kept shut and they are discouraged from entering the garden. A CD was available in Aug 08 and is still in the house.
