Photos and Description of this Dahab holiday villa Air-conditioned villa near fabulous coral reef for scuba diving and red mountain

Spacious detached house with private garden. Three bedrooms of which 2 are doubles and one has 2 singles. Bedouin shelter and seating in garden. Airconditioning, kitchen with fridge and 4 hobs, large dining and lounge area with satellite Tv and MP3/bluetooth speakers. We have an ethical policy of using biodegradable toilletries (provided) and cleaning materials in the house. We employ local bedouins and egyptians at fair wages. We can arrange activities including scuba diving, snorkelling, bedouin culture, camel safari and more. A percentage of the house rent goes to the bedouin school and a percentage of any dive packages funds education of the local population in marine conservation. We work with the local Sheikh's community and womens' projects. Dahab is not overdeveloped and the villa is in the centre of a small and friendly town not an anonymous resort. We are 200 metres form the sea front with it's relaxed restaurants and bars.

Nearest Airport: Sharm el Sheikh at 60 Kilometres
Nearest Beach: beach at 1.0 Miles
The villa is located in the small town of Dahab. Dahab is less than an hours drive north of sharm el sheikh through the Red Mountains of Sinai. Tours can be taken into the mountains, to Mount Sinai itself and St Catherine's monastry at it's base. There is a large sandy lagoon beach to the south side of town, excellent for windsurfing and in the telegraph's top 80 beaches in the world. There's plenty of snorkelling and shore diving the coral reef to the centre and north of town. Dahab looks out across the gulf of Aqaba and there are beautiful sunrises over Saudi Arabia in the distance and beautiful sunsets in the mountains of Sinai. We are also close enough to Israel and Jordan to take tours to sights such as Taba and Petra.

Notes: Sadly there are steps up to the front of the house- see photograph. There are no internal steps. Access is across a sandy area and our access road is not yet tarmacked. We have a bedouin Husha outside. This is a shelter with bedouin seating in it for relaxing in the breeze. Smokers are welcome but please smoke outside. There are plenty pools within a few hundred meters. Just ask the hotels if you can use them. They may expect you to buy drinks or pay a couple of English pounds to use, they will be pleased to have your business.

Scuba diving: We offer scuba diving in conjunction with a local female dive instructor with 6 years diving this sea and a local based marine biologist. Various PADI courses are available from the Open water to rescue diver or speciality courses. Drop us a line and let us know what your requirements are. We have a maximum if 4 divers to the instructor to maintain safe and responsible diving. If diving is too much we can arrange guided snorkelling to get the most out of our reef! We promote the coral code and minimum impact on the ecosystem.

Bedouin culture: We work with local community projects which can give you time with the bedouin to safari or learn more of their way of life and handicrafts

Climbing: Climbing and walking in the beautiful red mountains of Sinai can be arranged around your preferences. We use a very experienced and knowledgeable Bedouin/European outfit :for the best knowledge all round. But we don't arrange it in mid summer as it's a little too hot!

Other Activities: camel safari, mount sinai, snorkelling, climbing, quad biking

Wonderfull place for different type of travellers in native part in Dahab/ You wiil feel here like a native citizen.
Very big territory nere the house and big place inside allow to make a good warm travelling and rest.
Easily a place to return more and more.

Comfy, clean and spcious house.

Great outside seating for lounging and reading.

Diving excellent for beginners to experienced.

The mountains are beautiful and you can do as much or as little as you like.

Dahab is relaxed and chilled. It used to be a hippy enclave and retains the mellowness and friendliness.

The many restaurants serve great food and the nightclubs are relaxed.

It's lovely and warm for escaping the winter blues. And there are lots of camels!!

A clean spaceous building within a large walled enclosure. In a good state of repair, with effective airconditioning, when required, and insect mesh on windows (not required most of the year). Most of the time there was a strong breeze that made the climate very comfortable - but don't forget to use sun cream. A quiet location in the town, close to shops and dive centres, and the sea. Local contact available for any queries/problems.
My first time to the Red Sea. I am not a diver, but did snorkel for the first time (in my 63 years). Town is well provided with restaurants, bars, nightclubs; with a long pedestrian promenade for evening strolls. Local traders exert only light jovial persuasion to buy. All very laid back. Not over commercialised/modernised but just about everything is there.
I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a quiet holiday, with a ethnic flavour. For a diver, it is a location that must not be missed.
