Our elegant, luxurious and romantic rental apartment is situated directly on the lake, offering spectacular lake and mountain views. It is in the a centre of the lively historical town of Porlezza, but in a quiet area. It is an ideal holiday retreat and base to explore the stunning regions of Lake Lugano and Lake Como, both in Italy and Switzerland. The apartment is furnished to a very high standard by an interior designer with elegant solid wood furniture, oversized sofa in the living room, Italian linen curtains, original art, hand-painted mugs and other small luxuries, which will all add to your enjoyment of this wonderful summer holiday property. The property has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 4 to 6 (there is a quality Sealy bed-chair for 2 people, which can be put in the living room). Property features marble floors, designer kitchen and bathrooms, American fridge with ice-maker, large wrap-around terrace with matured greenery and furniture, private parking.

The apartment is situated directly on lake Lugano, in the centre of the historical town of Porlezza. Banks, restaurants, cafes and a beautiful marina, where you can rent a speed boat or a small yacht, fish or water- ski, are all just outside the apartment. Porlezza is one of the pearls of the Lombardy region. The town is tranquil, yet bustling with livelihood. Around the old city centre are many cafes and restaurants, and along its streets are little appetizing delicatessens, bakeries and charming little shops. A lively market takes place in the streets every Saturday and in the summer there is a weekly fair of antiques and handcrafts. The town is surrounded by a beautiful boardwalk, with a playground for children in its centre. Along the promenade, one can bathe in the clear waters, fish, rest, or drink a coffee in one of the cafes along the waterfront. Lake Como Menaggio – 11 km, 15 minutes Lake Como Bellagio– 20 km, 25 minutes (regular ferry from Menaggio) Lugano (city) - 17km

It was furnished for its owner...is enough said

The apartment is furnished with luxurious and high quality furniture for its owner to live in or vacation in, as it seems, and that tells you a lot about its quality. Add to it, its strategic location on the Lugano Lake and the Porlezza Corniche...A third advantage is its reasonable weekly rental for what you get: Location and Quality. Finally, the support was superior by the owner and his agent. Italy was hot at the time I stayed in the apartment, there is a ceiling fan in the master bedroom, but wished to have portable fans for the other bedrooms and sitting hall...but this is improvement for perfection, not a shortcoming.
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: Thank you very much for the kind review. I would like to point out that there are additional fans for the 2nd bedroom and the floor standing fan for the living room. Porlezza Vacation Home Away From Home

What a lovely surprise! The condo was everything is was advertised to be. Contemporary, well-cared for interior and modern fixtures and appliances. Wraparound porch with gorgeous view of Lake Lugano, free public beach within a five minute walk, restaurants next door and the old downtown of Porlezza a few minutes walk away. Porlezza was only 20 minutes or so by car from Lugano on a very scenic drive (although a little scary at times) and Menaggio on Lake Como was about 30 minutes in the opposite direction. The photo is correct. The first floor porch overlooks the marina across the beachfront road. Lake Lugano is a scenic gem by day and by night. The owners were very easy to deal with. You have just stumbled on an all around winner for the price.

Exellent property and beautiful location.

We originally looked at properties on Lake Como but this apartment caught our eye. It is in a superb location and the view from the balcony is spectacular. it is also sensibly priced. You will probably need a car and this makes it convenient for the rest of Lake Lugano and Lake Como.

All dealings with the owner were friendly, helpful and efficient.

The only down side for us was the lack of a good restaurart within easy walking distance but there are restaurants within an easy drive or toughish walk.

Excellent holiday.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway
Owner's Response: Just recently the municipality opened a bridge which connects the promenade in front of the apartment to the resort of Porto Letizia, where there is a nice restaurant and a great bar and also the newly renovated beach area with sun loungers, umbrellas and a beach bar. The resort is now less than 5 minutes walk away.

This apartment is wonderful. It is beautifully furnished and to a very high standard. We couldn't recommend this apartment highly enough.
The views from the balcony are breathtaking and we spent many an evening sat there gazing in wonder at the surrounding views.
The town of Porlezza is only a 5 minute walk and is lovely to walk around.
You are also a short distance from Menaggio which is a very pretty town.
Mark and Anna the owners were a pleasure to deal with and full of local information.

We would reccomens this apartment to anyone.

Absolutely 1st class. I have rented many apartments throughout Italy and I have never seen anything like this. Usually I expect the apartments to be fitted out with the cheapest furniture and materials which led to me wonder who buys all this fantastic Italian furniture that you see in shop windows and magazines. At last I have found the answer. Everything in the apartment is (and I hate to admit this) a lot better than I have at home. But the furniture is only part of the story. The location is superb, right on the lake front and accordingly the view is stunning. My wife and I spent many an evening gazing across the lake at the mountains. It leaves you speechless. It is less than 5 minutes from the centre of town, which is filled with many small and interesting shops and two wonderful churches. Local activities include mountain bikes trails, hiking and the usual lake water sports. I would highly recommend this apartment to anybody looking for either a romantic get away or a more active holiday.
