Charming holiday cottage in historic Fletching village

This wonderful, well decorated & furnished Grade II listed house is situated in The Conservation Area immediately surrounding the famous 13th century village church in Fletching, where Simon De Montfort kept an all night vigil directly opposite our house, on his way to the Battle of Lewes. In fact that is how the village got its name, the soldiers 'fletched' their arrows here on the eve of the Battle, in 1264. The award-winning16th Century Griffin Inn and Rose & Crown pubs are the social centre of the picture book village of Fletching in East Sussex. Fletching is now a delightful backwater and truly charming village. Unmissable local attractions include Glyndebourne, Lewes Bonfire night, The Blue Bell Steam Railway and Brighton. The house has a wonderful kitchen/dining room/patio area with views over the garden to The South Downs and Sheffield Park.
