Our beautiful Cretan House set in the beautiful countryside of Mavrikiano overlooking the breathtaking views of the Mirabello Bay would be a perfect choice of holiday for our guests. Villa Bougainvillea is set in its own private grounds and is equipped with everything to make our guests happy and offer hassle free holidays. From Villa Bougainvillea is a 400 metre walk to the local shops, taverna’s, blue flag beaches and sea in the local village of Elounda. Beyond Elounda is the unspoilt fishing village of Plaka from where you can take a boat trip to the island of Spinalonga used as a leper colony up to 1957. Also on your doorstep is the lively harbour of Agios Nikolaos which boasts both excellent restaurants, tavernas along with sophisticated shops and waterside café’s.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Payment is preferred in sterling. Written confirmation with the applicable 20% deposit of the total accommodation cost is required to secure the booking, once received a receipt will be sent. Full payment is due 6 weeks prior to the start of the rental period, for less than 6 weeks, the total amount is required at time of booking. A Damage deposit of £150 is also required with your final payment and is fully refundable. Cheques are acceptable although Bankers Drafts or Bank Transfers are preferable for speed of confirmation.
  • Special rates for long term winter lets available upon request. An option for the villa to be cleaned twice weekly, bedding and towels will also be changed twice weekly at an additional cost. Smoking is not allowed inside the villa.

We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Bourganvilliea. The villa is amazing, spotlessly clean and was beautifully presented – exactly as shown in the pictures. From our first contact with the owners everything went smoothly, from booking through to being met in Elounda by Rose when we arrived. The villa is in a very peaceful, picturesque spot, and the views are stunning – gained from its elevated position. It was lovely to wake up to see the sea sparkling in the distance. The villa is very well equipped, so much so we stayed in a few nights and just barbequed by the pool! It is within walking distance of Elounda, which has lots of restaurants, bars and shops to accommodate all tastes. Plaka and Agio Nikoloas are also a close drive away. We enjoyed wandering into town and although the walk back is uphill, the villa is worth it – and it we certainty needed the exercise after all the fantastic food and drink! It was such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay and Sharron and Rose could not have been more helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the holiday and will definitely be back again!

The Perfect Place to unwind!

We stayed at the Villa for just short of three week in mid August 2009, looking forward to a long family holiday and a well deserved rest. We immediately felt at home when welcomed on arrival and given the tour of the facilities. The property is immaculate and well appointed with everything you would need to be fully self sufficient exactly as listed on the description. Both internally and externally there is plenty of room for 4 people sharing. The owners were really helpful throughout the booking process and also during our stay as was Rose the House keeper and also Richard the pool guy. We were collected from the Airport and taken directly to the Villa and Sharron arranged for our Car to be delivered the following morning, it was perfect. So many good restaurants in Plaka and Elounda and lots of things to do for all! We will definetly recommend this holiday home to our friends and family and will return in the future.

A little taste of paradise!

I stayed at this property, during the first week of August, with my friend, and teenage daughters aged 15 and 16. The villa is in a very pituresque setting, with amazing views, so peaceful, but only about 10 mins walk, from lively bars, shops, butchers, bakery etc, so you have the best of both worlds.

. On arrival we were just so happy to see that it was spotlessly clean, well maintained, clean and tidy garden, and pool. Richard the pool guy also comes twice a week to clean the pool, which was great. Decor is relaxed, and again all perfect. A good selection of books/DVD,s also available. Excellent facilities, dishwasher, oven, washing machine, and handy welcome pack, of essentials, much appreciated. We walked to Plaka, for delicious fish, at Georgios, ordered lobster, which was very tasty!! Enjoyed walk up and down the hill into Elounda most evenings, for cocktails and drinks. Our teenage girls were happy to come and go as they pleased day or night, they enjoyed the Elounda Beach Party and Fireworks. Finally the owner could not have been more helpful from start to finish, always going the extra mile, and provided lots of useful and helpful information. I would recommend this villa 100% to friends, and looking forward to returning in the future.

A beautiful villa in a breathtaking setting with views that will not disappoint over the Mirabello Bay. A car is needed to utilise your visit, although we did walk up an down the hill to Mavrakiano into Elounda which is about 10 minutes but it is not for the feint hearted on the way back! It was unfortunate that work was being carried out on the hill during our stay which meant us going the "back way" which is a little daunting. However, all of that was well worth it when you get to the villa. The pool was fantastic, just like the photos on the site. Air conditioning was good upstairs, but there is none downstairs. The villa was clean and modern with everything you need, even pool towels, iron, ironing board etc. Great owners who kept in contact during the booking and I would definitely recommend this property. Great restaurants in Elounda: Vitromartres, Anamomylus, Marilena to name a few. Nice beach (although gravelly) at Marmin Bay with great watersports (2 mins from Villa). Good car rental from Olous Travel in Elouda Square.
