Casa San Rocco is a traditional village home located in the centre of the hilltop village of Caporciano. Fully renovated, the house comes with two outdoor areas, a small balcony on one of the bedrooms and a large terrace from the kitchen, both with outstanding views over the fields of the Navelli Plateau below the village and out over the mountains of Abruzzo. The terrace is perfect for summer living and comes with a dining table and sun beds. The traditional stone built walls ensure that even on the hottest summer days, the house itself will always be cool and shady. For winter, the house is equipped with gas central heating. The house is equipped with a modern fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and large, American style fridge. Both bathrooms are recently fitted to the highest standards. There are two living rooms, one downstairs and one upstairs. Ideal for summer and winter rentals, being within easy driving distance of both beaches and ski resorts.

The house is located on the edge of the beautiful Gran Sasso National Park, an idyliic area of towering mountains and beautiful old villages, ideal for walking, cycling, horse riding, etc. In addition, there are a number of ski resorts within a 30 minute drive of Caporciano. Head away from the mountains and down to the coast (about 45 mins drive) and there are plenty of clean, safe beaches backed by small and charming seaside towns. The nearest major city is L'Aquila (about 20 minutes away), home to some beautiful churches, top restaurants, cafes and bars and also a great fresh produce market, held most mornings of the week. The nearest restaurant is a 5 minute walk from the house and there are several other very good eateries based in other local villages, a few minutes drive away. The nearest supermarket is 2 minutes by car in the village of San Pio delle Camere. Further afield, Rome is an easy day trip away, best reached on the fast and frequent express buses.
