Villa Oleandro is an old traditional property. With its 3 trulli and large swimming pool & jacuzzi, it is in the heart of the Pugliese countryside surrounded by its own olive, fig, almond and other fruit trees in nearly 4 acres of land. The white city of Ostuni is nearby with its many shops and restaurants and the nearest beach has tempting waterfront seafood restaurants and several par 72 golf courses in the area for the keen golfer. Villa Oleandro has one of its two double bedrooms in an old Trullo with en-suite bathroom in a new purpose built Trullo adjacent. It sleeps 7 and is let solely to one party at a time. It is surrounded by a charming veranda with 2 barbeque areas and a traditional outdoor pizza oven. An ideal spot to relax around the pool for an enjoyable holiday.

San Domenico Golf Course is near the small fishing village of Savelletri, built on the site of an old airfield on the edge of the village, with sea views from every tee. Par 72 6220m. Acaya Golf Club. Location: Acaya, San Cataldo, Lecce. This new course enjoys a wonderful unspoilt setting on the edge of the Cesine nature reserve and only 2km from the beach at San Cataldo. The clubhouse is a converted 17 th century farmhouse. Riva dei Tessali Golf Resort. Location: Castellaneta. The Mezzogiorno's original golf course, founded in 1968 near the small beach resort of Castellaneta, set in scented coastal pine forest that offers welcome shade and shelter from the prevailing wind. Par 72 5947m. Metaponto Golf Club. Location: Metaponto. Only ten minutes apart, Metaponto and Riva dei Tessali are jointly owned. This was my second time in 2 years at Villa Oleandro in Puglia. This year, the new master bedroom and bathroom was completed and looked beautiful. The en-suite bathroom has a waterfall shower over a large bath, and the bedroom has it's own balcony overlooking the stunning view of the pool and surrounding areas.

The villa was incredibly clean when we arrived, and very well equipped for all our needs. We even had a go with the pizza oven!

We found ourselves staying in the villa for much of the holiday as it was so lovely, but did venture out one evening for dinner at the closest local restaurant, about 5mins drive away (or 15/20 on bikes). The restaurant served great local produce and dishes - a real taste of Puglia! I didn't want to leave!

The perfect Villa!

My family and I spent a wonderful week at Villa Oleandro in July. It was one of the best equipped rental properties we have ever stayed in, spotlessly clean on arrival with a beautiful pool and garden full of flowers. We enjoyed visiting the local markets to buy food and it was a joy to have a kitchen with everything we needed to prepared it, as well as 2 barbecue areas. I understand that the property has recently undergone renovations and the additional master bedroom with en-suite bathroom was wonderful.

The area is a gastronomic delight with family run restaurants serving fresh local produce, simply, but beautifully cooked, including some lovely fish restaurants overlooking the sea. The owners provided some very helpful recommendations for these.

We enjoyed several excursions into the surrounding area, which we found fascinating and very different from other parts of Italy that we had previously visited.

Excellent and large house between olive trees. Very pleasant pool with large terrace and furniture. Once a week cleaning-service , new sheets and towels. Agreeable contact with the owners during reservation-procedure.4 high quality bikes gave us the possibility to do some tours.
I recommend the property to those who like a calm holiday around the swimming-pool. A car is indispensable.
Fully equiped kitchen with all the amenities ( dish-wasser, washing-machine, 2 fridges, micro-wave and oven) . Library with many novels in english , italian language learning , italian cooking and local information (restaurants, sight-seeing ...)
Owner's Response: We are delighted that this group of Belgians enjoyed staying at our villa and found it so well equipped. We note that they say the villa is best suited to over-55s. However, in the 5 years we have been renting we have had many families with young children and teenagers who have thoroughly enjoyed their time at the villa and now that we have extended the property we feel that it is particularly suited to groups of 2 families or one family with grandparents enjoying a holiday together.

We, 2 adults, 4 grandparents and two toddlers, stayed at this wonderful villa at the beginning of June and could not recommend it highly enough. It's secluded enough to quietly swing in a hammock for the afternoon but close enough to several towns and villages that it's possible to pop out for a pint of milk.

Everything is catered for, from accurate and simple directions from the airport and firewood for the BBQ to provision of advice for day to day activities, excursions, eating and exploring all that Puglia has to offer.

Everything about the villa is of a high standard and much better than some of "luxury" destinations I have visited - the kitchen is well equipped, the bathrooms well appointed and the lounge actually contains DVDs you want to watch and books you want to read.

We're considering a return visit in the autumn.
