Fully restored 3 bedroomed Traditional Cave House and a 2 bedroomed fully restored Apartment for a self-catering holiday rental. Rented separately or together for a larger group. Fantastic value for money and totally equipped with everything you could need. Set in a beautifully quiet and traditional Spanish Village called Bacor and only 10 minutes drive away from the beautiful Lake Negratin. The setting is ideal for a real get away from it all holiday whilst still having great access to many local attractions.

The Apartment consists of: Master bedroom with double bed and French doors onto the balcony. Bedroom 2 has twin beds and a travel cot. The lounge has a wood burning fire, English TV, double sofa bed and French doors onto the balcony. The shower room has a wash basin, toilet and a large walk-in shower. All towels and linen are provided (for indoor use only). There is a fully fitted kitchen/dining room with washing machine, oven/hob, fridge, kettle, toaster, iron and ironing board. All crockery and utensils are provided. Outside there is a large tiled south facing terrace with table, 4 chairs, 2 sun loungers, large parasol and BBQ.

La Mazucar Cave House and Apartment are situated in the small village of Bacor, with its typical cobbled streets and white washed houses and caves. Ideal for that relaxing break to recharge the batteries. Bacor is surrounded by Mountains and National Parks. The Village consists of 3 small grocery shops, a butchers, bakers which delivers fresh bread to your door. There is a doctors, small chemist, post office and a small market on Sundays. At ¨Bar Jesus¨you can enjoy a drink and tapas with fabulous views, basic meals are served and are fantastic value. Lake Negratin is only a 10 minute drive away, it is ideal for sunbathing, swimming and fishing (permits needed). In the summer months you can hire pedaloes from as little as €6 per hour. There is an onsite Bar which serves drinks and ice creams. You can also enjoy local meals from €7.85 per person for 3 courses wine and bread. Just 20 minutes drive away you can relax in the hot springs overlooking the beautiful lake.

Andalucia: Andalucia is in Southern Spain and the temperature in the summer months can reach up to 50 degrees, but in spring and autumn a very pleasant 25 - 30 degrees. On average we have 320 days of sunshine a Year. The Historical Town of Guadix is only a 20 drive away as is the troglodite village of Purullena, so called because of its vast number of cave houses. The Town of Baza is 20 minutes away and the City of Granada only 1 hour both with many shops and restaurants. Also in Granada you have the famous Alhambra Palace and The Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Surrounding areas: The troglodyte village of Purullena is only a 20 minute drive, so called for its vast amount of cave dwellings. The village has a cave museum which is a an interesting visit for only €2 per person. There are a lot of tourist shops selling locally produced pottery, bars and restaurants.Granada City is an hour from Bacor. There are many outdoor swimming pools locally which are open from June – September, approx. midday – 8.00pm and cost from €2 per person, many of these have sunbathing and picnic areas and a Bar. For a more relaxing soak there are the thermal springs in Zujar, A pool with naturally warm spring water supposedly to have natural healing powers. The pool overlooks the lake with wonderful views, there is a round bar/restaurant above built into the mountain. This is only 20 minutes away from Bacor. Also 10 minutes away is the Sierra de Baza national park, with its stunning views and walks. In the heart of the park there is a restaurant/bar with an activity centre.

We spent a glorious holiday at the cave house this June (2009), everything was absolutely perfect - the accommodation, the friendly owners, the area, THE FIESTA, the weather - just everything!!
This is the second time we have stayed with Jo and Tim (the owners), last time we stayed in the apartment which was also superb, with everything you need, supplied.
The nearby lake is breathtaking with a superb restaurant overlooking it.
All in all, superb accommodation in a superb location.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
