A lovely romantic location with stunning views over the sea and the mountains. The property is at least five hundred years old in a pedestrianised village of one thousand years which was awarded the rosette for being one of the prettiest villages in France. The house is full of character with beams all the way through. The floors are tiled with rugs in the bedroom and lounge. The kitchen is small but functionable as is the bathroom. The bedroom is the largest room at the top of the house to make the most of the views. The lounge is down on the second level. The house is semi detached and has nine windows all double glazed with shutters so the house is bright and airy. There is heating throughout.The name of the house is Le Petit Nid which means the little nest situated in the heart of the village near all the restaurants with terraces over looking the bay of Menton and the Alpes Maritimes. The extra sitting room on the first floor is furnished with a chaise longue, table and chairs.

The nearest town is Menton with plenty of restaurants, beaches, shops and beautiful gardens. Menton is known as the pearl of the Cote D'Azur with its micro climate and wonderful lemon festival in February/March It attracts people from all over the world. In the summer there is a music festival. There are festivals all along the coast the whole summer through up till Christmas where Menton displays a lovely Christmas exhibition selling all sorts of lovely edible things. The village of Ste Agnes has its own festivals through out the year. It is a great place for walking through the Alpes with literally walkways from just outside the front door. Horse riding trips through the Alpes are available in the village. Bordighera and its gigantic rubber trees is a must. All these locations including Monaco are easily reached by public transport which is very good in this lovely region of France. The village of Ste Agnes has its own grocery store open 6 days a week.

  • A security deposit of £300 is required at the time of booking this retainer of £300 will be returned after the house has been inspected. Fabienne is in charge of my home and it is to her that the keys will be returned.Please ring before arriving. Fabienne will greet you on arrival to give you the keys. Any damage or additional cleaning required will be deducted from the £300. Full payment required 8 weeks before departure and 25% deposit required at the time of booking if made before the 8 weeks, which is non refundable. Any booking made at the last minute will require full payment before departure. Bed linen and towels are provided. It must be emphasized that the weekly rent is paid in pounds stirling exclusive of all bank charges. UK guests pay by cheque. Bank charges are the sole responsibility of those who make the booking. Any shortfall will be deduced from the retainer. Thank you.

  • Lovely large spacious double bedroom elegantly furnished with views over the village, mountains and sea. The bedroom is tiled with rugs and the ceiling is wood with beams. The bed has an electric blanket for the winter months when and if necessary. The bedroom has two windows which are double glazed with shutters and long curtains. The walls are furnished with wall hangings and pictures. Bedside tables, lamps and settees are also part of the furnishings which adds to its elegance. Pillow cases, sheets and towels are provided. Electric heating provided in all rooms. The second bedroom which is independent from the main house with its own double doors and key is on the ground level and would be ideal for children age thirteen plus or people who have trouble climbing stairs as this room is level with the little cobbled pedestrianised street. The sleeping accommodation is a large double sofa bed, bedside lamps,wardrobe,bookcase and table.

Notes: The house which is five hundred years old is built on 4 levels. The kitchen and bathroom are on the first floor. The bedroom is on the top floor to make the most of the views. It is suitable for everyone who is reasonably healthy and enjoys the outdoors. This area is wonderful for walking through the Alpes. For those seeking a quiet private place the medieval garden is well worth a visit. It is very beautiful and calm over looking the sea. On a clear day the island of Corsica can be seen from the garden bench. There is a footpath down the mountain to Menton which is 4 and a half kilometres. The house has been preserved as it was originally intended. Built on 4 levels. On 3 level there is a small landing with a window and cupboards for storing linen and cloths. The ground level which has its own double doors and key is independant from the main house. This is the second bedroom and would be ideal for one or two children age 11 + or more mature people who have trouble climbing the stairs

For those who love the out door life there are walks to be made from just outside the front door or picnicking by the various cascades dotted throughout the mountains. Also in the village there are horse riding excursions through the Alpes. Skiing is available one hour away at the Col deTurini in the Mercontour and also if you take the train from Menton to Ventimiglia change train and head for Limone, Piemonte skiing is available there also. Even for those who do not ski the train journey is well worth doing as the scenery is beautiful. The cost from Menton to Limone is 5 euros and takes about 40 minutes.

During the months of November to the 1st of March the change over days are flexible.

Other Activities: During the summer there is a ferry crossing to Corsica from Menton
