Los Olivos is a self catering cortijo (villa) set within the grounds of 'Finca El Gales', a 5 arce relaxed olive, almond and fig plantation located on the southern foothills of the majestic Sierra Nevada mountain range. Los Olivos has private access and its location offers guests stunning 360 degree views. It is the perfect secluded location for a 'get away from it all' holiday. Only 10 minutes drive or a 40 minute walk to the busy market town of Orgiva, you can access some excellent restaurants, tapas bars (still free in the province of Granada) all amenities, and the lively Thursday street market. Los Olivos is surrounded by various terraces, a totally private pool and a large covered patio with a bbq. Outside dinning furniture, sunloungers, beach chairs, shade and pool toys are provided by us. Mother Nature has provided the cleanest air in Europe, views to die for and the flora and fauna of southern Spain (watch out for the eagles! ). We fell in love with this area, will you?

Los Olivos is set in an area abundant with natural beauty, the Sierra Nevada National and natural parks, La Alpujarra valley, Amazing bird life (eagles around the villa) , Lanjaron spa town, the famous 'Peublos Blancos' of Pampaneira, Bubion and Capileira. Walking in the mountains, horse riding in the snow, star gazing and dreaming of a life forgotten!. For the more adventurous paragliding, mountain climbing, hang-gliding, mountain biking, quads, guided 4WD. Or just sit by the pool with a glass of Rioja and a good book!. further afield Granada is only 1 hour away with the amazing Alhambra Palace and gardens, Albahicin old town, Cathedral, water park and excellent shopping. Above Granada the ski resort offers excellent skiing for all levels, and its possible to be on the beach in the afternoon. The beaches of Motril are 40 minutes away and the resorts of Salobreña and Almuñecar 5-15 minutes further on.

    To book a holiday at Los Olivos simply email or phone your request for a booking form and to check availability. Your holiday will be confirmed on receipt of a completed booking form and a 25% non refundable deposit. The balance will be required 6 weeks before your arrival date. In the case of a late booking the full balance will be required with the completed booking form.

    A 200 euro breakages deposit will be required when the keys are handed over, this is returned when you leave providing the house is left in good order.

Notes: We have tried to make Los Olivos as child friendly as possible. The fire has a guard which can be fitted or removed,the main patio and pool area is fenced and gated. We provide toys for young kids, travel cots, booster/high seats, also a pushchair and babysitting can be arranged. A welcome pack is provided with basics (tea, coffee, milk, bread, etc). Los Olivos is totally 'off grid', we use the suns energy and a generator for power (all appliances may be used). Max and Neo 'del campo' live at the finca (our lovely dogs) they've grown with our kids and are very friendly and will become your best friends if you feed them !. We run an organic site, no chemicals are used on the olive and fruit trees or vegetables at all. Top quality single estate oil, seasonal vegetables and some fruit is available at various times of the year. Smoking is not permitted in the house, but ashtrays are provided outside.

Outside: Los Olivos is set in a 5 acre site so guests are free to roam, and explore. A 50 sqm covered patio with views access the valley is the perfect place to enjoy al fresco dinning (or build a playdo elephant if your 4!!) Sunloungers, plastic cups and plates are available for your use around the pool which is completely private and not overlooked at all. The pool is fully tiled, cleaned once a week and filtered every day and is open weather permitting from April to October - It is covered with a safety cover at all other times.Los Olivos has its own private track some 400 meters from the owners house which as with all rural tracks in Spain is bumpy but passable by all cars. Our main Cerro Negro track has just had the first km concreted (Sep 2008) so its then only 700 of track to the owners house which is well maintained by the owner.

wonderful and quiet stay in Los Olivos

We have a very good memory of our one week stay in Los Olivos at the end of July: we were very well accomodated, we found the heat we seek and the place is very calm, in the middle of nature with olive-trees, fig trees, cactus. The house is really pleasant and the swimming pool with the sight on the valley is really fantastic. We spent hours to contemplate the landscape. We would not have thought of remaining there like farnienters, without “anything to make”. While leaving the morning early or in the evening, there are good ballades. The access with the car is not really difficult, it is enough to lead gently. It is possible to go quickly in Orgiva and higher in the mountain towards Campaniera

Los Olivos - an amazing holiday

Los Olivos is located just outside of Orgiva and has stunning views across the valley. This was our second visit. Ieuan and Sonia are wonderful hosts and they provide a well appointed cortijo for the prefect getaway holiday in beautiful surroundings. The pool provides a welcome refreshing dip from the warm Spanish sunshine along with stunning views. Max and Neo (the 2 dogs) welcome visitors and are very friendly.

The location provides for a getaway whilst still being close to shopping in Orgiva (10 minute drive) and the coast can be reached in less than 45 minutes, as can Granada.

We cannot recommend this place highly enough for a holiday and will return at every opportunity.

Nous avons passé d'excellents moments dans cette location, très propre, très bien équipée (draps, serviettes, vaisselles...) et qui possède un panorama époustouflant sur la région. Calme assuré. Les propriétaires se trouvent à une centaine de mètres de la maison mais se montrent très discrets (voire invisibles) et très sympathiques. La location est accessible par un chemin non goudronné plutôt raide qui serpente dans la colline, cela peut impressionner certains (surtout si on croise un véhicule en face) mais ce détail pittoresque permet d'accéder à un endroit préservé, un petit "bout du monde". Tout le confort souhaitable y est disponible. La location fonctionne avec une réserve d'eau et un générateur d'électricité : l'ensemble a très bien fonctionné. Pas de souci. On a beaucoup aimé.
