This spacious and light apartment has been recently furnished in a contemporary style to provide stylish and comfortable accommodation. o. A southwest facing, secluded roof terrace for relaxation or alfresco dining. o. Upper mezzanine level consists of master bedroom with double bed and couch area. o. Lower level single bedroom with bed and triple wardrobe. o. Separate dining area seating four. o. Double height ,and aspect , sitting room with far reaching views to the television tower at Alexander Platz. o. Nearest Airport: Berlin Tegel at 7 Kilometres
The apartment is on the geographical borders between the city central zone of Mitte and Wedding. This location is served by two excellent U Bahns the U9 at Amrumer Strasse (4 mins) and the U6 at Leopoldplatz (10mins). These lines are just a few stops from all the major attractions; in the old East sector, Alexander platz, museum quarter, Brandenburg gate; and the old West sector, Tiergarten, Zoo and the famous shopping area at the Ku Damn. The apartment is also ideally situated for the airport at Tegel being accessible by taxi (10 mins) or public transport (30 mins). A few minutes from the apartment can be found the leafy canal side with a selection of restaurants and at Leopoldplatz there is the excellent department store Karstadt with a food hall and restaurants.

Notes: The apartment is a penthouse thus on the fifth floor with no lift. Inside there is a spiral staircase therfore I do not feel that this will be suitable for the infirm or the very young. Although the apartment is non smoking, I am happy to accept smoking on the terrace.

Great, and great value, little penthouse apartment

This is a great value apartment in Berlin. It is bright, quite spacious, nicely furnished, clean, as well equipped as it really needs to be, and has a homely feel. It's also in a quiet, leafy residential area.
It's close to two u bahn stations from which you can easily reach the main sites. You just need be sure that you can manage the flights of stairs to the 5th floor !
Oh and the owner's caretaker, who lives below is very helpful and friendly.
I would recommend this place as a good place to stay for a weekend or longer in Berlin.

PERFECT FOR A CITY BREAK

We have just returned from a five day city break and were impressed not only with the accommodation but also with the all way that all the admin and correspondence were dealt with. The flat itself was exactly as described: light airy well equipped and spotlessly clean. Very quiet and in a nice neighbourhood, A ten minute walk to the U bahn and all the sights of Berlin were easily reachable. Mention must be made of the access via nine flights of stairs which may be a problem for those who are less active but for us they were fine.

Our return flight wasn't until late in the evening and there was no difficulty leaving cases until later in the day.

The flat is highly recommended as being well appointed and very convenient for the city entre.

The apartment is bright, spacious and very well presented, with contemporary decor and furnishings. It is situated just a couple of minutes walk from the tube/metro and is a great base for sightseeing in the city centre, as the public transport system is excellent. The local shops are within easy walking distance so it is easy to stock up on supplies. There is a good department store (I think it's called Karstadt) with an excellent food hall which I highly recommend.

The owner of the apartment was efficient, friendly and very helpful.

I felt this was an authentic and very comfortable experience and I have no hesitation in recommending this apartment to others. It is a quiet, residential neighbourhood, within easy reach of more lively districts, which are great to visit but not so enjoyable to stay in !

This was my first trip to Berlin, I stayed three nights and regretted not having booked five. If you book this apartment, I hope you enjoy your experience as much as I did.

Great apartment, great location! A++ recommended!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 5 days at the beginning of August 2008. The apartment exceeded our expectations in every respect:

- Location - very close to Amrumer Strasse underground station (which is on the same line as the Zoo station, only a couple of stops away, which proved very useful indeed!). Great little cafe called "Auszeit" a five minute walk away by the canal.

- Accommodation - the flat has been very well decorated and furnished, stylish yet comfortable too. It's on the top floor so it's quiet and peaceful, not to mention private (all of which is a real luxury having become used to London living!). It was also much bigger than we had been expecting and the balcony was a major plus. The photos simply do not do it justice, you will have to see it for yourselves!

- Comfort/cleanliness - the flat had been thoroughly cleaned before we arrived and all sheets/towels etc. freshly laundered. We really have no complaints!

- Customer service - Paul was pleasant and helpful... he even sent us a few emails recommending cafes / local shopping centres.

We had a wonderful time and really felt at home in the apartment. We were very sad indeed to have to leave and return to London (forgot to mention above, the weather in Berlin was beautiful while we were there!).

I have already recommended this apartment to my friends!
