Great Weekend

Fife Clan Fife
Review Submitted: September 24, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
This is the second time we have stayed at Westloch and it was beautiful again. Plenty space and well equiped. We had two people in wheelchairs with us and there was room to move, the bedroom and toilet on the ground floor made life easy. Its a pleasure cooking in the kitchen, everyone gathering round the big table and then chilling out on the sofas. We had a great weekend and are planning our next visit.

The Perfect home from home

London Golfers Hertfordshire
Review Submitted: September 23, 2009 Date of Stay: September 2009
This house is faultless. Well equipped, spacious and furnished without compromise throughout. Considering we were a party of 10 men on a golfing holiday the house still felt large enough to accomodate all of us easily. All of us would return with our families to explore the local area more as all we saw were golf courses - but the course at Eyemouth is exceptional, both in quality and value. It is a bit off the beaten track, but this adds to charm of the place. The customer service received was also exceptional. As I said the place is impossible to find fault with.

Perfect Holiday Cottage

Geordie Clan Newcastle upon Tyne
Review Submitted: August 23, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
Westloch Cottage is just as described in the advert, beautiful. Very spacious, accommodating 10 (6 adults and 4 children) of us easily. It has everything that you could possible need, from utensils in the kitchen to books to read. Unfortunately the weather was not always kind to us, but we really didn't mind as the house itself was so relaxing. The gardens are lovely plenty of space and well maintained for the adults to sit and the children to play. The kids were kept well entertained by a neighbouring puppy who visited us on a daily basis to play and steal our balls which we then retrieved on our walks out. The surrounding area is beautiful and tranquil, ideal for country walks but recommend bringing suitable footwear as it does get a bit wet. Coldingham Bay is lovely, perfect little beach for the children, we also visited the Museum of Flight in East Lothian on a rainy day which was very interesting. The views of the coast line and cliffs are breathtaking and are only a short walk away from the house. Can highly recommend eating at Oblo's in Eyemouth and we also got fish and chips 'delivered' from MacKays in Eyemouth, which were fantastic and have to say take some beating! Correspondence was fantastic, Janis was really helpful and answered any questions promptly and accurately prior to our visit. Would thoroughly recommend stopping here and would not hesitate to return some day.

Super house, fantastic holiday

gallus1 Aberdeen
Review Submitted: August 17, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We struck gold when we found Westloch Cottage. The house was beautiful and well equiped and was extremely spacious, even for a party of 10! It was great to have such a big dining table and we spent many happy hours gathered round it. Highlight meal was our 40th anniversary moon landing space party! The garden was also brilliant and was well played in by all the kids (and most of the adults too if we're honest!) The owners provide excellent customer service. Booking was easy and they were most helpful in dealing with any queries we had. We really felt they gave us a very personal service and they came across as genuinely wanting us to have a great holiday and wanting to do everything they could to make this happen. The location of the house is perfect - lots of peace and quiet but close enough to shops etc when we needed them. The area is also superb and we very much enjoyed exploring it. We loved Coldingham Bay and would also highly recommend the glass bottom boat trip from Eyemouth - great value for money, especially if you go when there are lots of birds nesting on the cliffs. We would definitely go back to the Borders area and if we do Westloch Cottage will be our first choice for accommodation.

Fantastic property, great for all the family

AndyL Lancashire
Review Submitted: August 5, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
Our week went so quickly I dont know where all the time went. The cottage was just perfect, we had the whole family around that lovely big table every night for evening meal, something we dont normally have time for. The cottage has everything you could possibly ask for even down to a selection of DVDs and board games, the wife and kids even managed to complete the 1000 piece disney jigsaw (did take them most of the week to complete though). The directions that were supplied were spot on and we found the cottage without any problems. The surrounding area is full of small coastal villages with some lovely views across the beaches and pubs which serve some great food. We did intend to take advantage of the fly fishing available at both lochs near the cottage (one to the front of the cottage and one to the rear) but we ran out of time and didn't get round to it. Deffinitely give the cottage a try, you will not regret it.
