Beautifully furnished apartment in Carrer de la Merce near to the Cathedral of La Merce - Barcelona´s patron Saint. Right in the heart of 'Old Barcelona'. Beautifully renovated flat in an historic building with every comfort and decorated to the highest standards. The apartment is a genuine home from home with 4m ceilings and balcony. Located just off the seafront, half way between the Ramblas and Born, surrounded by myriad restaurants and tapas bars. Medieval sights abound mixed in with shops of every description and sidewalk café life. Large and comfortable living/dining room with small balcony, original artworks, satellite TV, free WiFi and music centre; the kitchen is fully equipped with all mod cons; air conditioning throughout, including kitchen, central heating; 2 bathrooms, washer and dryer. Easy access to the airport, train stations and minutes from two metro stations.

The apartment is situated in a pedestrian street in the heart of Barcelona's Gothic Quarter only one block from the Port Vell where many of the old buildings have been restored and converted into restaurants and galleries, and Marenostrum which offers fantastic shopping. The colorful Ramblas are just a five minute stroll - be sure to check out La Boqueria, the amazing market. The Born, with its fantastic tapas bars is a couple of minutes stroll in the opposite direction. Barcelona's Cathedral and Plaza Catalunya are a 10 minute walk and the beaches of Barceloneta just 500m. Paseo de Gracia, with its famous Gaudi buildings, Casa Battò and La Pedrera is a short taxi ride. Paseo de Gracia runs from the Plaza Catalunya up to Diagonal and is home to all the best designer shops. The iconic Sagrada Familia is about 15 minutes away by taxi. Moving around Barcelona is easy: taxis are cheap and plentiful and public transport works really well. Two metro lines are only 5 mins away.
