Quarteira is a bustling town with lots of good priced local & International restaurants & shops. The famous fish market & other markets open daily with local flavour & atmosphere. Algarve's biggest & most famous market is held every Wednesday, for gifts and souvenirs. Quarteira is an old fishing village which has developed into a very popular holiday destination. It is family friendly in the summer months & great for long winter lets. The beaches of Forte Novo & Quarteira are Blue Flag rated, have easy access, great swimming, are clean & well maintained, safe especially for children & elderly. Plenty to do for all generations with lots of local attractions in easy walking distance. The Aqua Show Water Park great fun & just a 5 minute drive away. The following excellent golf courses are all within 6km: Vilamoura; The Old Course, Pinhal, Laguna, Millennium, Victoria, Vila Sol Championship. Vale Do Lobo - Ocean, Royal. This is a ranking European tour event.

Travel: Faro Airport 20 minutes by taxi or car (airport transfers for up to 4 people available by arrangement). Quarteira bus station 10 minutes walk. As all amenities are within walking distance a car is not necessary unless you want to visit the many interesting places on the Algarve. The apartment has a secure underground private car parking space allocated.

Distances from Parque Atlantico: Faro 20 minutes drive - historic old town, boat trips on Ria Formosa and great modern shopping centre. Loule 15 minutes drive - pretty inland town with good fresh fish and fruit daily market. Almancil 5 minutes drive - church of Sao Lourenco do Mato worth a visit. Vilamoura 5 minutes drive - fabulous Marina with great night life and international restaurants. Albufeira 20 minutes drive - a choice of beautiful beaches Aqua Show water park 5 minutes drive.

Upon arrival at the building you notice is one of the nicer blocks in the vicinity. For families it is perfect, entry phone on entrance and within an unintrusive fence which gave me peace of mind that the children would not wander off or anyone wander in. The complex has a lovely pool in lovely grounds with a well maintained tennis court. The apartment itself is clean and well equipped with all you could want and as it is on the ground floor no worries about letting children out on it, also within sight of pool so for older children they can go and have fun while you relax. Across the road is a well stocked supermarket and the beach is 2 minutes walk away - what more could you ask for! Mary and Mike met us at the apartment and showed us around, very helpful and comforting to know should there be any problems they are only 30 mins away and more than willing to assist. From a family point of view I cannot recommend this apartment highly enough and would have no hesitation returning.

This apartment is one of the best that my wife & I have ever had the privilege to stay .It is in the perfect location for peace & quiet if that is your forte but at the same time close enough to all amenities such as the glorious beach ,town centre and very reasonabley priced restaurants.The apartment itself is absolutley first class and is a credit to the owners Mary & Mike and contains every facility you could wish for.Our 2 friends who accompanied us remarked that in over 50 years it was one of the best holidays they have had . Needless to say we have all agreed to book for next year.

The wonderful place from Mary and Mike

We are home now for a few weeks, but we still talk about the wonderful holiday in Portugal. The apartment is beautiful,very suitable for disabled people and also the boulevard is convenient to go with the wheelchair. The location is in a quiet part of the city. The property is very clean and the customer service could not be better. We will recommend this place to every one. The restaurants we visited were good. There are quite a number along the boulevard. We sure want to come back and enjoy the pool, the see and the surroundings.

Fantastic holiday

We have just come back from our first holiday to Portugal, and staying in this apartment helped make it our most relaxing family holiday yet. Being picked up from the airport was a huge bonus, and Mary very kindly pointed out places to go and see on our route to the apartment. On arriving there, we were immediately impressed by how clean, spacious and modern the apartment was - the photos do not do it full justice. The pool area was spotless too, and the grass so soft that you didn't need to take loungers out there. We particularly enjopyed having the small "paddling pool" as this meant our daughters could go out in the morning there without us and we needed only listen/watch from the adjoining apartment.
Quarteira promenade is lovely in the evening with its restaurants and play areas and if the girls were in bed before 10 o'clock they were complaining!
Mike and Mary, as all other reviews have stated, couldn't be more attentive and thoughtful hosts; it is great being away from home yet knowing there is a friendly voice at the end of the phone if you do have any difficulties.

the apartment was great,very clean, close to the beach
do not miss a chance to play golf , a visit to the local waterpark.A good stroll along the beach to Vilamoura ,try not to miss the fish market resturaunts and the best meat cafe/resturaunt called Bem Bom.best bar and the best cocktails must have been the seagull bar on the beach (migel is the best).thank you for all your help Mary and Mike,be back soon peter
