Photos and Description of this Minho & Costa Verde holiday cottage Self catering, all local amenities within walking distance

Covas is situated approx 20 minutes from the Spanish border and the old town of Villa Nova de Cerveira, 25 minutes from Camhina and its pristine white sandy beaches. Across the border is northern Spain's Galician region which is steeped in history with wonderful seafood and tapas. Our property was restored in 2007 and sits in 1.5 acres of private gardens. The Old Stillery contains 1double bedroom, en-suite shower room and a large kitchen living area, with dining table and comfortable seating, and double sofabed, there is also a woodburning stove and central heating, room fans are provided if needed. Next door is the old quinta believed to be 300 + years old which contains a large ensuite double bedroom. Both properties have satellite tv.Please note that the owners do live on-site in a seperate property and do occasionally share the pool, but we would like you to look upon this as an advantage! The cottages are cleaned and the linen changed weekly, we do not include beach towels.

Covas enjoys a well stocked mini supermarket, post office, cash point and 4 family run restaurant / bars, serving good quality traditional food. In the local town of Villa Nova de Cerveira you will find a good supermarket, shops, banks, and a large number of cafe / restaurants, the majority of which are situated around the old square. It also holds a large Saturday market where you can buy almost anything! Camhinia is a short 20-25 min drive where you will find pristine, white sand beaches and plenty of good local sea food sold in the local market. Historical Ponta de Lima with its old Roman bridge and wonderful old cobbled streets is a 30 minute drive, there you will also find a fantastic 18 hole golf course. If you are after fantastic scenery and walks look no further than our doorstep and the beautiful Serra de Arga, where you will find amazing views of the Atlantic coast and inland towards the national park.

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking and the balance is payable 4 weeks before arrival unless arranged otherwise by ourselves. We will accept UK Stirling or euros by bank transfer.

Notes: From the parking area to the property are a number of steps which might make it difficult for wheelchair users, also due to the nature of the terraces the garden might not be suitable for young children. Well behaved pets are welcome, we have a well behaved, friendly dog and cat so anyone suffering from allergies please keep this in mind as they do have use of the garden.

Water skiing: Water skiing and kyaking is available through ourselves on the picturesque local River Minho, we welcome all levels, tuition from beginners to experienced available. Qualified driver and Ski Nautique boat.
