Places to visit / Travelling around:
There are some great local character towns like Mijas pueblo (25 mins drive) and spectacular Ronda (75 mins) with Marbella's old Town or stylish shops (20 mins) and Puerto Banus's marina 30 mins. Fuengirola is only 10/15 mins and offers a range of activities and Malaga (25 mins) has history, art and much more. A day trip to Gibraltar(60 mins) is possible and others visit Cordoba or Granada - and Tangier (overnight trip). The discerning traveller can soak up Spanish character, culture, history and food.
We usually hire a car at Malaga airport (reserve on internet in advance) and use this throughout our holiday. However our agent is brilliant at airport pick-ups / drop-offs and has a people carrier for the purpose. He will arrange car hire for you locally if you want part-holiday only. Most of our guests hire a car so that they can be flexible and visit different places, beaches or restaurants. However we have had some keen train / bus users and walkers (guide available).
Local facilities:
There are 2 fine supermarkets in Riviera del Sol (one open 24/7 and both with bakeries) plus a bank with cash machine, DVD hire, English papers and a range of shops, bars and restaurants. Larger supermarkets are 5 mins drive away. Nearest restaurant is 5 mins walk. 10 mins drive away there is a great range of eating places to suit all tastes. Try La Cala or Calahonda as well as Cabopino port. 5 mins away the Aztec Club offers tennis, badminton, mini-golf, beauty therapy and Italian fo. As well as Golf there are water sports of every description. There's a water park at Fuengirola, plus parasailing, dolphin trips, scuba diving and power boats (the same at Cabopino). Try horse riding and racing at La Cala too.
If you just want to chill out within a few miles of Paraiso and do a few different beaches, bars and restaurants that's very easy and very relaxing. It's also very simple to grab some good food and wine and eat in the cool back at the apartment. Whatever you want.
Disabled / Extra facilities:
It's a gated development with secure access and secure underground parking. There's a lift direct from the car park to a few metres from the apartment door so we're disabled friendly. Some of the paths around the gardens have steps however - and the short one to the pools has some large wide, shallow steps.
Extra cleaning/ linen changes can be arranged and a children's cot, buggy or high chair are available via our agent.
