Car hire is the most suitable way to get the best from the area, but you can easily get by walking around the Vila Sol area and taxi services. Car hire can be arranged, you can pick up your rental car on arrival at Faro airport. Current rates available on request. Holidays in this area are to be recommended. There are some excellent restaurants, as well as numerous eateries catering for every taste and budget. The supermarkets are good and stock all requirements. Water sports are plentiful and the excellent water park Aquashow is less than 1 km away. Take a trip inland where there are some excellent cheap restaurants, and trips to the nearby mountains and the Spa town of Monchique. In Vilamoura the port is a beautiful marina with beautiful yachts. You can go on any kind of boat trip you want, or even go para-gliding or see the dolphins out at sea.

Great holiday at Portugal

We stayed at this apartment for 1 week last year and liked the apartment so much we booked it for 2 weeks and were not disappointed once again.

It is a modern spacious hi-spec apartment and comfortably sleeps 8 People- 3 Double Rooms, 2 of which are ensuite and 1 room with bunk beds, a generous lounge area, main bathroom, a modern fully equipped self catering kitchen and dining area with ample room. The apartment has 2 large LCD TVs which have satellite. There is a terrace area for sitting out at night. All rooms are fully air-conditioned, it really is an impressive living space. There is an allocated underground car park. The apartment is in a gated community and requires a pin code to enter so it is private and safe.

The apartment overlooks a large swimming pool which is supervised daily and is very children friendly located approximated 10 paces from our terrace! There is also a heated pool nearby also.

The complex itself is well serviced and contains a supermarket, restaurants, pubs, a hotel and spa, and a golf course, so it is easy to spend time here.

We hired a car at Faro Airport and we would recommend this to get around. The apartment is an excellent base for all the main towns (Villamoura (5mins), Albufeira (10mins) and Quarteria (3mins),

Some of the activities nearby include Quad biking, Scuba diving, Parasailing, Jet Skis, Pony trekking and dolphin & cave safaris so it really is a great location and has something for everyone.

There are loads of options in terms of good restaurants and night life in the main towns. We hope to return again next year and would recommend this apartment to anyone.

Excellent Holiday Apartment

Stayed here for a week, a good apartment with everything you could need. Palmyra is an excellent, gated and very secure complex. Only a 5 minute walk to the Hotel where there is a choice of restaurants. A 15 minute walk takes you to an excellent supermarket, Oscar's Bar/Restaurant, French Deli and a couple more restaurants. We BBQ'd at the apartment a few nights which was very relaxing. Taxis are easy to get, either phone one (there is no phone in the apartment so a mobile is needed, or you can ask the guard on the front gate to organise it for you) or just grab one passing by. The apartment Manager provides a pick up from and to the Airport for free is needed. A taxi is about 60 Euro return from Faro Airport, and about 16 Euro return into Villamoura. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone.
