Created and furnished by the designer owner using the very best 'ingredients' with 2 huge (32/34sq.m.) en-suite bedrooms, complete with silk curtains, down pillows and dimmer lights. Their bathrooms have power-showers, baths and double basins, proper hair-dryers + robes and slippers! A panoramic 3rd floor open-plan living space and large dining terrace (+ cargo lift, so no need to carry up shopping!), separate spacious roof terrace with luxury sun-loungers, shower and shade sail, and a romantic, small private 'Moorish' pool with 'fountain spout'. Casa Convento has the advantage of being part of the delightful 'pueblo blanco' of Canillas de Aceituno, while maintaining its own intimate atmosphere, peace and privacy. Due to the spiral staircase from 3rd floor living room to roof terrace and location of roof terrace and pool, this property is not suitable for young children/infirm/elderly. There is a strict NO SMOKING policy at the property, even outside, due to fire-hazard of surrounding countryside. NB; Best to hire a reasonably small car (up to Ford Focus) as parking space is restricted.

Blissful Mountain Location

We –a family of four (children aged 12 and 14) - have just returned from a week in mid August. Casa Convento is ideal for chilling out, unwinding on the lounge terrace while taking in the breathtaking views of the Alta Axarquía in the Malaga mountains, or just strolling through the winding streets of Canillas de Aceituno. Then coming back for a cooling dip in the pool and sunbathing/reading on the roof terrace, before a leisurely meal/barbeque in the evening soaking up the sunset. Yes it really is that good !
The photos on the website looked impressive and lived up to expectations on arrival. Suzanne’s customer service and attention to detail in the decoration and furnishing were much appreciated giving the house a wonderful sense of space and light. The kitchen is well equipped and made self-catering a pleasure- especially the dumb waiter to carry up the heavy shopping!
Casa de Convento is also an excellent base for exploring the region -day trips to Malaga, Frigiliana, Granada and for walking in the mountains that are literally behind the house. The village has shops for basics and if you really feel the need for a huge shopping centre there is one only 20 minutes away.
I would recommend this house to couples and families with older teenage children and those that love walking. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
