Summer Holidays:
In the Summer, Nendaz offers more than 250 km of rambles from the plain of the Rhone up to the glaciers, many level strolls following the ancient 'bisses' (irrigation channels) across the mountainside, and numerous activities : mountain biking, swimming, tennis, paragliding, beach volleyball, fishing, archery, squash,.. you name it, we do it. The nearest Golf course is a 20 minute drive and there are several others within easy driving distance.
The penthouse is located just on the outskirts of the town centre. There is a large Migros Supermarket near the penthouse and the village is full of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes, a cinema, a bowling alley and a discotheque. There is a very good Fondue restaurant in Planchouet Les Bisses serving the traditional Favourites Cheese and Bourginion as well as
some local variants and some really wacky ones like Tomato and chocolate.
Ski:
Nendaz is in the heart of the Valais Alps in Switzerland. Its territory extends from the plain of the river Rhone right up to snowy peaks at 3’300m (10'000 ft). The resort, on a plateau at 1’350 m (4’400 ft), offers a panoramic view of the Bernese and Vaud Alps. Nendaz occupies a privileged position at the heart of the 4 Valleys ski area with its 400 km of ski runs and 100 lifts, all available with a single ski pass, and numerous facilities specially for snowboarders.
For beginners Nendaz offers a couple of gentle areas well out of harms way, and for experts the place is a veritable paradise. For those in between, get a lift map and choose carefully. There is plenty of good middle ground, but this is a big area. The ski pass system is full of variety, allowing skiers to tailor make a pass to best suit their ability.
