Venice city centre holiday apartment

This apartment was not as tiny as I'd feared! It's owned and managed by a local lady who went out of her way to make everything as easy as possible. She provided excellent customer service and did things to make our stay a very special one.
The apartment has a very nice, modern feel whilst retaining original features such as wooden beams. It has been very well planned to make the most of the space. It's certainly bigger than a hotel room (and about half the price).
It was very clean and a change of towels was provided after a few days. Some groceries were provided too.
I have already recommended the property to friends and have only been back a few days. In fact, I would use it again without hesitation.
It's in a very quiet location within a very nice neighbourhood. It's near the bus station (get number 5 from Marco Polo - tickets from the tourist office, to the right through arrivals). This is a real bonus as some hotels in Venice are hard to reach and find. We spent 9 days exploring Venice on foot and found so many good restaurants I can't list them all - if you don't want to pay lots and be with loads of tourists you don't have to. Just avoid the San Marco/Rialto Bridge areas for eating and go up any side Calle and you will find great places to eat. 'Pizza al Volo' in Campo S Margherita is great for a take away, GROM sells the best ice cream (Campo S Barnaba) - good restaurants include Da Silva (Calle S Pantalon), 'Taverna San Trovaso' (Fondamenta Priuli, Dorsoduro), 'Pane e Vino' - a few about the city, 'Ae Oche' -good for pizzas and 'Al Nono Risorto' - it's in S Croce area in a sortoportego/passage but I couldn't really say how we found it! We came across it on way from Rialto Bridge area back to the apartment.
All in all, we loved Venice and it's quiet, pretty charms. We didn't want to spend too much time indoors as the weather was lovely so will have to go back in the rain to visit all the indoor attractions!
This apartment is perfect for a couple who want to get a real feel for Venice. We loved it and hope to return again.
