Value, Not Luxury

Overall:
If you're looking for a good 'basic' place to stay, with a great location, then this one will do the trick.
Good Points:
- Convenient location, good access to bus routes and walking distance of city centre and Leith too...
- Really convenient to have WiFi
- Had everything I needed in terms of space - I would say definitely max 2 people though if you're spending longer amounts of time in the flat, for comfort! Okay for more if you're just using it as a home base to crash...
- Scotmid and Tesco Express super close
- Local pub "Robbie's" super close, great atmosphere (heaps of other local pubs and shops along Leith Walk, also super close walk to centre)
- really good Chinese across the road from Middlefield...
- very good service from owners, but no frills
- a good base location
Not so good, but not major problems:
- Only provided one bath towel in the flat, thin with holes in it...
- Kitchen not super clean - if you're picky, you'll clean the walls in the kitchen yourself when you get there... but tidy and basic.
- This one doesn't provide basics like some of the others do, i.e. bring your own toilet paper; salt, pepper, oils (some places have this stuff provided in the kitchen, this one doesn't) but again - the Tesco Express is just up the street.
- If you're going to be working (i.e. at a computer) late at night, the lighting isn't great
- Ceilings are low...
Owner's Response: I am very pleased to hear the guest enjoyed their stay but would like to point out the following . The apartment is not advertised as a luxury property, but it is a bit more than basic, lcd tv with integrated dvd, integrated fridge and freezer, jaccuzi bath, combi shower, automatic washing machine,central heating,etc, When a booking is made an information email is sent with the contact number of the person who looks after the property for cleaning etc, i dont understand why a person staying in the property for 9 days who is not happy with certain things did not contact us until writing this review. As the lady lives 3 doors from the apartment and could have recified any issuses very quickly. Only 1 bathtowel was supplied as the booking was for 1 person although someone else did stay at the apartment as they went to aberdeen with the key to the flat by mistake. had we been informed 2 people were staying more towels would have been supplied. the ceilings are 2.2meters high the walls and ceilings are painted white and the light is 120 watt, a toilet roll is supplied, and when i stayed in the property myself 08/03/09 - 14/03/09 the flat was spotlesly clean. I would ask any future guest to contact us asap if there is any issues that they are not happy with or if we can help in any way for them to enjoy their sty with us
