Romantic luxury in our special barn conversion with vaulted ceilings, spacious lounge with wood burner, large bedroom with king size bed and plenty of storage space, luxury bathroom with double bath & seperate shower, Fully fitted kitchen with 4 ring cooker, oven & grill, fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, and all the utensils and equipment you will need to enjoy your holiday. Maps and guide books are provided for your use and we greet you with a traditional Devon cream tea, bottle of wine, fresh flowers and a welcome basket of goodies. Linen and towels are provided free of charge. Your first basket of logs are free. Sorry no dogs at Owls Roost.

Owls Roost is only 2 miles from the delightful historic market town of Tavistock. Voted the best market town in England Tavistock offers and interesting range of individual shops, and of course, the famous pannier market, with it's range of stalls offering delicious food, crafts and produce.We are within the Dartmoor National Park with it's vast beauty, hills, streams and rivers to explore and wonder at. Many activities nearby include horse riding, fishing, inc. coarse, river and fly, walking, cycling (we are adjacent to National Cycle Path 27) and hiking. There are numerous golf courses nearby, including the very well known St Mellion, only about 15 minutes away by car. Many others within shorter distances. Hawking can be arranged, as can guided walks on Dartmoor. There are a good selection of National Trust properties within easy travelling. The Eden Project is about an hours drive. The historic port of Plymouth is only 15 miles away. Beaches approx 40 minutes drive.

The wonderful double bath, a seperate full sized shower enclosure, toilet with soft close lid, washbasin with large mirror with lighting and shaver point. Modern decor with white suite and slate coloured / white flecked walls make this a very special place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine together after a days exploration of the lovely area surrounding Owls Roost. Lovely soft white fluffy towels are provided for your use, free of charge.

A radio alarm clock with CD is by the bed, should you wish to have an early call.

Notes: We have kept Owls Roost pet free. We have had couple who have brought a small baby and we are happy with this but we do not provide any baby equipment and do not cater for small children at Owls Roost. There are some steps up to this barn conversion which are wide and easy to access with a hand rail but may not be suitable for somebody who has difficulty ascending steps. Once in Owls Roost everything is on one easy level.

We have just returned from Owls Roost where we spent a lovely week. The standard was so high that we felt we had to leave a review. Caroline and Nick have done a great job. We have stayed in many cottages in the area for over 15 years and this is certainly the best for cleanliness, peace, privacy, location and a warm welcome. The cottage's facilities are very well thought out and you would be hard pushed to find more finishing touches in a good hotel. Owls Roost is high recommended.

We have just come back from spending Easter at Owls Roost. It is everything you could want in a holiday cottage and a bit more. The hosts are welcoming and very helpful and I can thoroughly recommend the cream tea! The location is great for walking and many local historic houses. We hope to go back one day.

My wife and I have just returned home following a week spent at Owls Roost, We do not normally feel moved to comment regarding the standard of holidays that we have experienced but on this occasion would wish to make an exception. The week we spent there has been a complete antidote to the pressures of modern day living. The accommodation was first class, warm and comfortable despite the snow, ice and gales that we experienced. The cream tea and bottle of wine which greeted us on our arrival was most welcome. Dartmoor is right on the door step……just 10 minutes walk up a bridle path…which meant we could head off for the day to explore the moor with out the need to use our car, We also tried a couple the therapies on offer and would recommend these to anyone who has the good fortune to book a holiday there and feels the need to “chill out”.

We will be back.

A cosy and luxury retreat for two

We stayed at the cottage for NewYear and were impressed by the superb standard of the cottage and the kindness of the owners Nick & Caroline. The bathroom is something else!

We would certainly recommend it to any couple wishing to chill out and get away from the hassle of everyday life. Tavistock is an ideal base to tour this part of Devon although because of the cottages situation it is possible to walk on Dartmoor without resorting to the use of the car.

We certainly hope to return.
