Situated in the Historic Old Town of Pollensa, the house is a 5 minute walk from the fabulous main square with all its pavement cafe bars , restaurants and shops on your door step. The house has just been lovingly reformed by the owners using the best quality materials and all the fixtures and fittings are of a very high standard. The house enjoys a very private good sized terrace with dining table, sunbeds and separate sitting area and a lovely private swimming pool. The house has 2 x double and 1 x twin bedrooms and two bathrooms on the first floor and a fourth bedroom / office study and separate bathroom with walk in shower on the ground floor. The house also has centralised hot and cold air conditioning, radiators and a stove type fire in the lounge. The kitchen dining room has a table with seating for up to six people, stainless steel range cooker, dish washer and retro style fridge. The house dates back to 1850 and is one of very few detached properties in the historic old town.

The northernmost spurs of Sierra de Tramuntana are the backdrop of the Mallorcan town of Pollença. The town has a medieval historic quarter that sits only a few kilometres away from the Mediterranean sea. The town, under the shade of the mountains of Puig de Pollença and Calvari, has managed to preserve intact its personality, despite being only a short distance from the bustle of the beach. Pollensa has been a preferred destination of painters and artists since the beginning of this century. Here, the cultural and artistic life never stops. The main square with its pavement cafes and chique restauarants is the hub of the towns unique charm. There are a lot of art galleries and museums. During nearly all the year one can enjoy a variety of musical events and fiestas among which the most famous ones are those which take place in the Santo Domingo Cloister. The town is open all year round with walkers, cyclists and bird watchers taking over from the summer tourists in the cooler months.

  • Rates are in Euros. Change over day is can Saturday. Rates quoted include linen and towels and final cleaning. 25% deposit is required when booking with the balance becoming due 8 weeks prior to arrival. Payments can be made by bank transfer to our Spanish bank account or by credit card(2.5% surcharge applies). A credit card is required on arrival as a security / breakages deposit. Payments can be made in Sterling (GBP) at the conversion rate on the day of booking at www.hifx.co.uk currency converter (interbank rate).

    We can provide airport transfers if required please ask at the time of booking.

    Between November and March and additional 100 euros is payable if you require central heating on a timed basis or 200 euros for constant use.

Beautiful, Eclectic Town House

We have stayed in and around Pollensa for many years. This house had a lovely feel to it- a fantastic mix of styles which worked so well. The pictures don't do this home justice. The pool area was lovely and secluded - perfect for brekkie or sunbathing. We had children (aged 11 and 15) and had no complaints.
The town facilities, which are many, are all a few minutes walk away. I would confirm the previous post and response from the owner; get a small car - parking is tight and can be difficult.
Colin, the owner was charming through-out from initial contact to welcoming us on arrival. We could not ask for more.
The house was spotless and in perfect working order. It was well equipped and you could cook and eat here with little problem.

The beach at Port De Pollensa is an easy 5 mins drive away. The beautiful mountain drive through to Soller, Deia is a must. Great Sunday market in Pollensa and Palma only 40 mins away - but you might want to go by train. Takes a bit longer - costs only €4-50. No car hassles.
This is a lovely place to spend a holiday. Give it a try - we did and loved it.

Happy holidays in Old Town Pollensa

We were just 2 people and took the big master bedroom which was very comfortable. Very big bed, large cupboard including safe ( and different to every hotel room : Enough hangers for our clothes !!) The house looks exactly like on the photos. Nice and clean . Great mixture of old and new details. Pool was too cold for us, but this might change when the sun gets stronger. We loved the brand-new bathrooms with the big showers !
Private atmosphere without any "spectators", breakfast in the patio was wonderful ! The kitchen was well equipped, but a coffee machine is missing .. this is maybe not so important for English tea-loving tourists, but for us Germans :-) But instant coffee from the local supermarket was a good alternative for breakfast. Big supermarket just a few minutes away by car. Found there everything except from Nutella :-)
Very nice and unique area of Old Town Pollensa, just a few minutes walk away from the market place with nice restaurants. Exellent food in every price category ! The streets in old town Pollensa are extremly small, so don't choose the biggest car.. otherwise you will have problems to pass without scratches..or won't find a parking space :-)

Activities: Go to Cape Formentor, take pictures at the first photo stop, the view is much better than from the lighthouse ! Puerto Pollensa beach is nice, white and clean and just a few minutes away to drive. We cannot recommend St. Vincenc Beach, very small, very loud, no white sand, smells like you are lying in a big kitchen.

Shopping : Festival Park outlet center : Clothes from famous brands at reasonable prices. Or visit the small boutiques around the cathedral in Palma .Clothes there are not cheap but UNIQUE !
Owner's Response: Thank you Birgit and Gerhard for the review. To future renters, I have now added a third coffee maker to the house, there is already an expresso maker although it is a little difficult to use and a filter coffee plunger type maker. I have now added one of the coffe makers that you put on the gas ring so there are plenty of options for coffee lovers. The pool does get warmer as the season moves on, although I am considering adding solar heating to extend the swimming season. If anyone wants Nutella it is available in the local supermarket although they put it in a place you wouldn't expect, but I would be more than happy to deliver one to the house for you! Very good point made about hiring a small car, the last thing you want at the end of your holiday is an excess charge from the car hire company. Or make sure there is no excess to pay on the hire car insurance policy.

Lovely House & Location

We had a wonderful stay in the house, it was everything we had hoped for. The owners have done a really good job when they refurbished it. Everything was perfect and as described on the advert. When we arrived everything ws spotlessly clean and there was a grocery pack waiting for us which was a nice surprise. The owners were very helpful, they also left a very useful information book with very indepth information on the area, restuarants and days out. We loved the Sunday market in Pollensa and it was a real boon to be able to walk out the door and be in the middle of it all in a matter of minutes. Or favourite restaurants were Clivia, Il Gardino and the lunch menu at the El Moli was outstanding value; three couses and wine for 8 euros unbelievable. Can't wait to go back next year.
