Casa Giuliana

This is indeed a very elegant apartment situated within easy reach of the visitor attractions in Lucca. The apartment is well equiped, very comfortable and clean. The main bedroon is exceptionally large but the second bedroom, although large enough only has windows to the inside of the builing and is therefore a little dark, but nontheless very confortable. The details of the property on the web-site are incorrect when stating the property is suitable for the elderly/infirm and is wheelchair accessible. It most definately is NOT. There are 50 steps from the street entrance to the front door of the property.
It would have been helpful to have had some visitor information available in the property to; assist with using the appliances within the apartment, contact numbers should emergency services be required and recommended restaurants, which we found difficult to locate in Lucca although there is an abundance of pizza cafes nearby.
There are plenty shops nearby were you can buy all necessary provisions and there is a very helpful tourist information office within 100 yards.
It would however be prudent to confirm and re-confirm with the owner your arrival details and access to the property. Although we thought we had done this, and even sent a text message informing of a slightly delayed arrival at the railway station where we were to be met, we were let down and upon arrival had no choice but to book into an hotel for one night. Whilst the owner was extremely apologetic this was a disappointing start to our holiday.
Despite this the property is well worth a stay and I would certainly recommend it.
