Close to golf courses Arcos Gardens and Montecastillo Golf. Many more golf courses within easy travelling distance. Jerez city and airport just 20 minutes away, Famous for its sherry bodegas and horse shows. Cadiz and beaches of Costa de la Luz are 40 minutes away. Seville and Ronda is 60 minutes away. Waters sports on the lake. Horse Riding and walking also close by. Views to Sierra de Grazalema. Doñana National Park within easy distance. Arcos de la Frontera. 10 minutes walk to the 'pueblo blanco' and the old town with its Parador, Castle and ancient churches, as well as many bars and restaurants. Uninterupted Lake Views from front of the house. Close to many Golf and Country Clubs including 10 minutes drive to Arcos Gardens and 20 minutes to Montecastillo Golf. Water sports including sailing and canoeing on the lake. Within easy driving distance of Grazalema and Doñana National Parks. Local Horse-riding and walking. Jerez and its famous sherry Bodega´s and Horse shows is just 20-30minutes drive away. Cadiz the oldest city in Europe and surrounded by sea on all sides is just 45 minutes drive as are the beaches of the Costa de la Luz. Seville and Gibraltar are 60 minutes away. Portugal and the Costa del Sol are less than 2 hours drive. A great base for exploring this beautiful part of southern Spain. Grand Prix racing circuit is just down the dual carriageway. Description of holiday house on web was very accurate. We were looking for a quiet location to relax and convenient for golf. It ticked all the boxes-- with choice of balconies back and front to sit and catch sun. We had the comfort of the new part of Arcos with easy parking at gate of house. Old town spectacularly perched on the hill was 5 minutes by car.There were few other tourists in our area which meant locals were very friendly even though neither they nor we could speak each other's language. The local tapas bar was friendly with pool and darts available.
A trip to Cadiz 45 minutes away on the coast with super sandy beach and refreshing sea air was a high light. Believe its centre with beautiful buildings is worth a visit.
Our return trip to Malaga via Ronda was a beautiful trip through the mountains on top of which stood the many white villages of Andalucia. Steep sided mountains fell to the valleys below giving way to beautiful views.
Roads in Spain were easy to negotiate with very good signage. The golf course we used called Arcos Gardens was a parkland and to me surprisingly green. It was however my first taste of golf abroad. Food served at the club was fresh and very tasty- sea food salads to lasagne and chips .
Our house was spotless. However the local footpaths were a little overgrown with weeds. That did not impinge too much as I enjoyed my stay so much. Yes I have no doubts about returning If my family can do without me for a week in May again. Thank you
