Our traditional village home in beautiful, historic Frigiliana is available all year round for self-catering holiday rental. Comfortably furnished, it is three miles from Nerja and the excellent beaches nearby, and an ideal base for exploring the old Moorish quarter of Frigiliana and the valleys and hills around, unforgettable sites like Granada, Malaga, Sevilla, Cordoba, Archidona, Ronda, national parks like the Sierra Nevada, Grazalema, Donyana. Located in a quiet side street which offers free parking, it has two terraces with views over the sea, the hills and the valley below, a large living-room, a dining-room, three double bedrooms, two bathrooms (one en suite), a well equipped modern kitchen and adjacent utility room, an orchard garden, a small patio. A large electric boiler supplies hot water efficiently throughout. For chilly winter or spring evenings, there is a powerful wood-burning stove in the living-room, and radiators for the other rooms. There is a TV and Hi-Fi.

Our house is in the typical Andalusian village of Frigiliana, winner of national awards for its beauty and historical interest, on a hill 3 miles from Nerja on the Costa del Sol. We supply detailed descriptions/maps of how to find the house and where shops/restaurants are in Frigiliana at time of booking. The village is 15 minutes drive from Nerja and the fine, sandy beaches nearby, including the famous Burriana beach, and has wonderful walks in the hills and valleys around. Two kms. from Nerja are a major tourist attraction, the vast Cuevas de Nerja with beautiful stalactite and stalagmite formations. The unforgettable sites of Granada, Sevilla, Cordoba, Ronda, Archidona are within 2/3 hours by car, and lively Malaga, with its handsome bay, central park and castle, is just one hour away. About the same distance as Granada are the ski resorts of the Sierra Nevada, and not much further afield are the beautiful national parks of Donyana, Cazorla, Grazalema, and Cabo de Gata.

    The rental rates are given in pounds sterling but payment may be made either in euros in Spain or in pounds sterling by cheque sent to us in the UK.
  • Weekly prices for each season:
    Low season: November to March inclusive
    Mid season: April/June inclusive and September/October inclusive
    High/peak season: July/August inclusive
    Low-season £225 pw Mid-season £275 pw High-season £375 pw
  • To secure the booking:
    one-third of the full rental must be paid six weeks before the start of the letting period, or at the time of booking if this is less than six weeks before that date. The remainder of the rental, in addition to a returnable £120 deposit to cover possible breakages or cleaning costs, must be paid not less than a week before that date. If nothing is broken or missing, and the house is left in a clean and tidy state, the deposit will be returned within a week of the tenant's departure and upon the return of the house keys.
    Keys:
    Keys will be sent to your address a week before departure on receipt of the remainder of the rental.

The large, efficient boiler delivers plenty of hot water to both.

We had a really super holiday in this lovely house. A great location for exploring the old and new part of Frigiliana.

Would throughly recommend this property.
Owner's Response: I bought the house in 1980 in a fairly derelict state as a holiday home for the family, and also in order to have a base for my frequent trips to Spain, since I was then a
university teacher in Spanish. Since then, my wife and I have virtually reconstructed it inside and out in order to make
it more habitable, welcoming, and attractive, and after we started renting it occasionally about two or three years ago, have always considered it primarily as a family home rather than a house for commercial rental. Perhaps that shows. In any case, it makes us glad to know that visitors to the house have got some of the pleasure from it that we have.
