Lovely Self Catering Gites in the Cevennes, Languedoc with absolutely FABULOUS VIEWS. ALL YEAR ROUND. Private SWIMMING POOL, & nearby gorgeous CRYSTAL CLEAR RIVER SWIMMING, There are also THRILLING WALKS, superb TRAIL HORSE RIDING. TENNIS, and other activities too. This is an IDYLLIC LOCATION 11km ST JEAN DU GARD, close to the CEVENNES NATIONAL PARK. Anduze 22km. The TOWER sleeps 2, Our CONVERTED CHESTNUT DRIER COTTAGE 2 - 5 both with large patio, garden with BBQ, We also have a lovely 2 bedroom apartment sleep 4-6. Great hospitality and many of our visitors return every year. L'Elzet is in the magnificent Cevennes, Languedoc Roussillon, close to the border of Lozere and Gard and the Cevennes National Park. St Jean du Gard is just 11km, historic Anduze is 11 km further East. Nimes Airport is approx 1hr15, Montpelier 1hr45. Other airports: Carcassonne, Toulouse, Marseilles, Perpignon. Main train stations: Avignon or Nimes. Car hire is at all these locations. We are on the famous Stevenson trail, with thrilling walks, gorges, canyons, caves, forests topped by Mont Lozere mountain and winter skiing. Visit colorful markets, Cevenol museum , Steam train to the giant Bambouzerie on a scenic route to ancient Anduze with its lively street cafes, quaint shops & cobbled streets. Much more to see and do than staying by a beach!   • The Cled - a converted chestnut drier cottage has lovely views, and ideally suits a couple or a family group up to 5 . It has open-plan living/dining and kitchen. Log fire. Sofa bed. The first floor has a double bedroom, and 3 singles (1 set of bunk beds and matching single bed), through to bathroom. Outside: Garden and terrace with large covered pergola, dining/garden furniture & BBQ. Here you have magnificent views and the sun can be warm here even in the winter months. We have other lovely Gites, each with their own corner of L'Elzet, including a romantic Tower Annexe and large newly furbished 2-bed apartment . They are all unique, really pretty, and comfortable. even in the winter months. There is use of a private swimming pool and you can wander in our park and woodland of 17 hectares with man beautiful vistas. You will not be disappointed !! PLEASE CONTACT US FOR FURTHER DETAILS

We are 1.5km from excellent local village amenities and a friendly community. It is 11km from the nearest market town of St Jean Du Gard. A further 11km is historic Anduze. Ales is 45mins. About the cevennes: This area is a jewel in the diverse region of Languedoc in the South of France. In Spring, in summer, the Autumn, or in Winter there is a special atmosphere at LElzet (there are over 25 acres of woodland walks and vistas) and the Cevennes each season. We particularly love the Autumn, and it is still usually hot through the day in October. The cooler evenings can need a shoulder wrap. Some of our gites have a log fire. The third week of October is very popular with the French.

The Cevennes National Park: The Cevennes National Park is wild, rugged and diverse in both its geology, fauna and flora. It is a' Biosphère' protected by UNESCO with more than 2400 animal species and also protects the Cevenol way of life L'Elzet is near the Stevenson trail and many other beautiful walks, as well as the 'Must See and Do in Autumn' Corniches des Cevennes. The rugged beauty and diversity of granite meeting limestone means sheer ridges, deep gorges,many rivers, dramatic limestone caves to thrill. The scenery is magnificent. Robert Lewis Stevenson wrote the book 'Travels with a Donkey in the Cevennes'). The Wines of the Cevennes & Languedoc: The Languedoc vineyards of the Southern Cevennes just South of Anduze produce some lovely wines, including organic. It can sometimes be possible to arrange a visit.
