Spacious modern 2 bedroom/2 bathroom, ground floor apartment (slightly elevated). Large south west facing terrace with large dining table and chairs, 2 reclining chairs, built-in BBQ. Communal facilities include pool, with poolside bar and restaurant, fully equipped gym with sauna and Jacuzzi overlooking pool area. The pool area is situated on the edge of the hillside directly overlooking the beautiful Burgau beach and its famous beach bar. The village of Luz is only 5 mins drive to the east, or alternatively can be reached by foot on a scenic cliff top walk from the village. The large and bustling historic town of Lagos with its walled city and modern marina is only a 10 mins drive away, or alternatively there is a bus service from Burgau, or taxis which are reasonably priced. The nearest golf courses are Parque de Floresta and Boavista (10 mins drive) and Palmares (15 mins). Penina is about half an hour away. Fishing and surfing are literally on your doorstep.

The apartment is located about 300m from the center of the village, Burgau beach is a south facing beach sheltered by cliffs, clean white sand and perfect for families. 3km West of the village is the village of Salema, another pretty fishing village with nice beach, and numerous unspoilt beaches as you head further west towards Sagres where the old fort built on Europe's most Southerly point is well worth a visit. To the East is the slightly larger resort of Luz, and within 8km is the bustling historic town of Lagos. Faro airport is 1hr drive, on the A22, Many companies run mini buses to the various resorts, a seat on the bus will cost between 20 and 25 euro, book in advance. A train service runs from faro station to Lagos, and takes approx. 1 hr. Lisbon airport is a 2.5hr drive, again a wonderful motorway, which connects directly with the A22. There is also a good bus service from Lisbon to Lagos, although the bus can take up to four hours due to stops along the way.

GOLF: Golf There is an abundance of courses in the Algarve, the nearest ones to this accommodation are Parque de Floresta and Boavista (10 mins drive) , and Palmares (15 mins). Within 30 mins drive there is also Penina, Alto Golf, and new courses Quinta do Morgado and Alamos. Green fees for courses in the western Algarve typically tend to be a lot more reasonable than those closer to Faro.

SURFING AND OTHER WATERSPORTS: There are many great surfing beaches in the area, depending on experience levels, the sheltered south facing beaches are suited to beginners/improvers, but within 20 mins drive to the west, you reach the more exposed beaches and surfers paradise. There is a surf school in Lagos and in Sagres, It is possible to book courses for just one day or longer, the school will collect you at the bus stop in Burgau and bring you to the various beaches in the area. All equipment is included in the price, it is an excellent day out even just to see some of the remote beaches and the stunning scenery off the beaten track.

TENNIS/ SQUASH: There is an excellent Sports center in Burgau. It is possible to hire courts and racquets, coaching for adults and children is available, and the center also run sports mornings for children during the Summer, where children can try a variety of sports including swimming, again at a very reasonable price.

My partner and i have just returned from a fantastic holiday staying at this apartment. The apartment looked great from the photos but it was even better than we imagined. It was so spacious and furnished to such a high standard, it was awesome. Burgau is fantastic, so relaxing and quiet.
Restaurants were great, our favourite was the Beach Bar but we had a great night at Casa Grande and also The Hut which is in front of The Ancora which we also had a lovely meal but came out rather bloated!!!!!!
We had great walks into Luz before returning to Burgau for a glass or two of Lancers Rose Wine at The Beach Bar!!!!
We have stayed in many apartments over the years but i can truly say this was the best.
Can not wait to go back, didn not want to come home.

As a family with 2 children aged 12 & 10, our holiday in Burgau was absolutely perfect.The apartment completely matched the description and was very clean, spacious and had everything in it we could wish for.In particular the balcony was a real bonus area as it had full sun from afternoon to sunset, which enabled us to make full use of the bbq.The pool area was kept very clean and there were always plenty of sunbeds,there is also a large grassed area with climbing frames and sandpit which helped to occupy the youngsters.
Burgau itself offers lots of character with its narrow cobbled streets and there is a good selection of restaurants.Our favourites were the Beira Mar,Os Amigos,The Ancora and The Casa Grande also has excellent pizza nights on Saturdays and Sundays.
This was our 4th trip to Burgau and it will definitely not be our last!

I have just spent almost a week in this property with my two children and I would have loved to stay longer. It is perfectly located on the edge of Burgau's fabulous village. The restaurants are all very good, friendly and resonable and the beach is minutes away. You don't need a car as everything is on your doorstep. There are some fabulous walks with amazing views. Burgau is a very friendly and relaxing village and I would highly recommend this property with all its facilities to anyone. Can't wait to go back.

Beautiful Burgau

Hi, I have stayed in this apartment 3 times and plan to return later this year. It is a wonderful homely and spacious apartment. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. There are two bedrooms one is unsuite. Also a main bathroom. There is plenty of space to eat inside or out on terrace. It is very secure and safe. The front terrace is a fine size and in the evening after a day in the sun its is wonderful to sit as the sun sets. This apartment is just a short walk to village where there are plenty of fine restaurants, coffee shops, gift shops and supermarket.I have been with my children and without and it suits all ages. Also there are gym facilites with outdoor pool and poolside bar/restaurant. If you want to have a relaxing stressfree few days or weeks this is the place to go. Walking distance to beach also, so no need for the car! Hope you enjoy as much as we did..Adrienne.
