Tigmin Zaraba is an ideal place to relax, just 20 minutes from the city centre. It is a great base to explore Marrakech and the the local area. Unlike other villas, it is let as a whole and not by the room. Tigmin Zaraba has been furnished traditionally using local craftsmen and women. The villa sleeps up to 6 and comprises 2 bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin). 2 guests can sleep in the sitting room on traditional sofa beds. There are 2 bathrooms, 1 of which is en-suite. Relax and enjoy the tranquil setting as Tigmin Zaraba is set in 5 acres of olive and fruit groves. Tigmin Zaraba is secure and fully licensed and so ideal for families or those wanting a relaxing place to stay. Enjoy stunning views of the Atlas mountains or Marrakech lit up at night. There are sun loungers for soaking up the sun around the pool (pool is available between April and November) or on the roof terrace. During the cooler months sit in the traditional Moroccan sitting room around a log fire.

Steeped in history, Marrakech is a fantastic place to visit with a unique atmosphere. There are many historic sites to visit, including royal palaces such as the Bahia or the Badi. Soak up the atmosphere at the Place Djemaa el-fna where storytellers and snake charmers or take relaxing walk s around the many gardens including the Menara or Agdal. For authentic gifts visit the vast souks and enjoy haggling for a bargain. The area is a great starting point for visits to the Ourika Valley, with it's emerald green fields nestled by the river. The Ourika Valley is a great place for trekking or just sitting by the river and eating a tagine. Further on is the village of Imlil at the foot of Mount Toubkal - the highest peak in North Africa. Alternatively, how about visiting a local souk to really soak up Moroccan life.

Further info: If you arrive after 4 pm there will be a basic welcome pack including a minimum of bread, butter, eggs, milk, fruit, yoghurt, tea, coffee and water. The owners will be on hand to answer any queries and speak English, French and Italian.

Perfec Bliss among the madness!

We fell in love with the pictures of Tigmin Zaraba, but the reality is even better!
We arrived late on a Saturday afternoon. Deana met us at the airport and drove us to our home for the next week.
The kitchen was stocked with everything we would need to see us through until we could go shopping. Said and Deana were happy to take us wherever we wanted to go, they could not be more helpful.
After a day in bustling Marrakech, the peace and quiet here is so welcome. Diving into the pool was so refreshing.
Deana and Said were so helpful and recommended places to eat and what to beware of in the city.
We will definately stay there again, which speaks volumes about how wonderful this place is. We hardly ever go to the same place twice!

Idyllic retreat

We were looking for a relaxing short break in a traditional setting and this was the perfect place. Close enough to Marrakech to be able to experience the atmosphere and hustle bustle but far enough away to be able to enjoy rural views with peace and quiet. The gardens are beautiful and it was lovely to see peacocks wandering around. The place is very traditional, clean and the roof terrace a generous size and very private. Deana and Said were the perfect hosts - giving good advice on where to go and where to avoid. A truly enjoyable stay - we will be coming back.

Little piece of paradise

Tigmin Zaraba is the most wonderful place to idle away some time; whether you are fond of the madness of Marrakech or the tranquillity of the Atlas Mountains, both are in easy reach and with the owners available to guide you within the region there is simply nothing to fault this Kasbah. It is very clean, well maintained and equipped, beautifully authentic and traditionally built. Acres of fruit trees and planting through which to wander, the distant sound of peacocks and turkeys gobbling, along with sheep, goats, rabbits and others; all eagerly awaiting your table cuttings. The swimming pool and roof terrace are ideal for taking best advantage of the long hot sunny days, followed by a BBQ or a meal out at the many wonderful restaurants (our particular favourite is run by a women’s cooperative, which illustrates the forward thinking of the country now led by a new Monarch) try the Tagine of Lamb; tender and very tasty. Another favourite experience was within the Medina, where you will find a market trade experience like no other; the local people are full of fun and enjoy negotiating a price for their colourful pottery and amazing fabrics. It is such an interesting way to spend a morning or the whole day as there are plenty of places around the outside of the square to sit and take it all in over a coffee or a freshly squeezed orange juice. As a rule, we rarely go back to a holiday destination, since there is such a wide world out there to explore, but with Tigmin Zaraba we have already broken that rule once and expect to do so time and time again. One of the very best things (and I hope you can tell there are many!) are the owners Said and Deana; discrete but available when you want them, helpful and interested, knowledgeable and very willing to share that knowledge so that you are able to fully understand the character and the development of the country so far. Don't miss out on this amazing experience -we will definitely be back again, if only to renegotiate with the market trader that offered me 500 camels for my 23 year old daughter - it’s worth a thought!

Peaceful Haven

Tigmin Zaraba was very comfortable and we were well provided for. We were delighted at the Kasbah style villa and traditional atmosphere. The secluded pool was relaxing after the hustle and bustle of Place Jemma El Fna. The High Atlas mountains are accessible from Tigmin Zaraba and are well worth visiting, as is Essouira, which was a complete contrast. Our hosts, Said and Deana, could not have done more to make our holiday enjoyable.
