West Haven holiday villa: The Shires

As a family of five, we stayed in this villa for 11 days during the October school holidays. The property is at the edge of a street with a nice view out the back, in a gated community near Champions Gate.

The location is close to Interstate 4, Champions Gate Golf Courses and around 20 minutes to Disney and 30 minutes to International Drive by car.

On one floor the main living / dining area has all other rooms connecting on, with a glass door opening out to an outside dining area and the pool with Jacuzzi.

The Master bedroom has a Kings size bed with a large TV mounted on a cupboard plinth. There is a DVD player connected. The en-suite bathroom and walk in wardrobe are big and roomy. There are plenty of hangers for your clothes and racking for your shoes!

The second double bedroom also has an en-suite and a door out to the pool. However, no TV or DVD player.

The other two bedrooms have two single beds so sleeping facilities for 8 are there (two doubles and 4 singles). But no TV's which I would have added.

The pool we had heated for our stay, which is a recommendation for the time of year and permits swimming late evening. Very cosy at night with the coloured underwater lights.

The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, Coffee Maker, Kettle, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer with plumbed in icemaker (a must) and a 4-slice toaster. In the utility room, there is a washing machine and separate tumble drier.

There was WiFi available but we found this to be very slow once connected.

One disappointment not with the villa was the Community sports facility nearby. This has been shut down, the pool has been drained and there is no gym facility. Perhaps a sign of the times, but a big disappointment for my two Gym loving sons.

Because there are no stairs, this property will suit the older folks for the convenience. Nice and clean, I would recommend for families up to 5 or 6. Any more then you will be falling over each other.
