Short 75min drive or easy transfer service from Geneva Airport. 30 minutes by auto route A40 direction Chamonix and then take exit 19 and continue 30 minutes into the Grand Massif mountains well marked destination Flaine village. Local taxis and free shuttle buses to nearby villages and ski stations, Morillions and Les Carroz. Flaine village is above 1500m elevation virtually ensuring a wintry setting for all snow sports and activities. Our Montsoleil resort is a self contained, all season resort perched just above Flaine village with easy access to all winter activities or golf and tennis facilities for the remainder of the year. We will send full directions of how to get there with the information pack we send out with the confirmation of booking.

  • Payments to be made in either GBP £ or Euro on request. Booking deposit of 25% required with balance to be paid 4 weeks before departure. Refundable security deposit of £300 required.

Tim and Kate and family (children aged 10,7 and 6) had agreat week at the very end of the '08/'09 ski season. Appartment very comfortable and well appointed. Pool a real bonus. Good skiing for beginners and intermediates and we still had snow!

Can highly recomend this appartment.

First time on the Piste!

This was my first experience of ski-ing, and what a lovely place to start. The apartment was extremely comfortable and very well equipped, with stunning views of the mountains. Lovely to come back to after a hard days ski-ing either to relax in the jacuzzi or have a swim.
Can thoroughly recommend a stay!

Exceptional Standards

We spent eleven nights in this well equipped genuine 4 star apartment this summer. As a Canadian, I found this property on par with those Intrawest offers at Whistler. We speak poor French but had no problems - the staff couldn't do enough for us. We have 2 kids aged 6 & 10 who were kept busy fishing, riding, golfing, hiking and enjoying the pool etc. The owners have given much careful thought to equipping the property with pretty much everything you need to self cater. The view from the apartment is lovely.
The only cons to a summer stay are the high altitude of the resort and the fairly sparse choice of restaurants nearby as one would expect in a ski resort in summer. As mentioned in other reviews a car is essential. We highly recommend this apartment.

Summer in the mountains

The apartment is great, well equipped, and with all luxuries. As it is quite high up, the presence of a heated pool and jacuzzi is a big plus. It is still very focused on the winter season, we found the place (and indeed most of Flaine) almost deserted.

It is a very scenic location, the views of the mountains took my breath away every morning. It is great for walking/hiking lovers, or for those looking for peace and quiet to "rechange the batteries".

Take into account that since it is high up the mountain, temperatures can be as much as 10 degrees celcius lower. So when you go out and about, dress for where you want to go to (we used the free wifi available to check the weather reports before we set out).

One possible downside is that it is a 25min drive (car absolutely required!) down the mountain to get to the civilized world again. Take that into account when you plan a lot of sightseeing. The route is however very scenic, we didn't find this a problem at all. Geneva, Annecy and Chamonix are all within driving distance, even if you take scenic routes.

Fantastic Flaine

Everything about this holiday was superb. The apartment location affords beautiful views, the layout is easy and accessible. The staff were very helpful and informative. The apartment was a real home from home, we were very comfortable. Ski- in/out is good so long as you don't have small children, but saying that the ski bus is right on your doorstop and is a very brief hop to the slopes. Our 3 year old was with us and we opted for the bus, we had no problems. Can recommend Les Cimes in the Forum, for food. The slopes were amazing, and our daughter couldn't wait to get back to the apartments to meet up with the other children for an afternoon splash in the pools. We were very sad to leave and look forward to having many more holidays here, we left with very fond memories of Montsoleil and Flaine.

I think your point about very small children perhaps not being able to ski in/ski out is valid, but as you say this is covered by the free ski bus (and also the ski school bus) which both pick up and stop directly out-side the apartments.
