Great times at casa Morena

I have stayed at Casa Morena on several occasions over the last few years: long late spring weekends, mid-winter breaks, hot summer weeks. Regardless of the time of year (and weather), or the kind of company - I find some solo-holidays in magical places such as Capri can be more effective than any rejuvenation program...- I loved every minute of it. Its not the Capri you see in glossy magazines: noisy shops surrounding the "piazzetta" overcrowded bars and tourist hangouts where English is the only language spoken do not apply here. Up on the Anacapri hill, surrounded by timeless countryside peace and quiet, yet just steps from the "action" it is a true privilege to explore the island from this vantage point.
The house itself is so pleasant i often felt tempted to just linger on the terrace, read a book in the sun, take in the atmosphere and just do nothing, or maybe plan a meal with friends and make use of the charming old style-but fully functional kitchen you see only in coffeetable books.
The furniture and style of Casa Morena reflect owner Michela Papadia's taste and often tell the story of the house that for years has been a meeting point for friends and visitors who, like the owner herself, are often artists, writers, and designers. Many of whom have left traces of their stay with photographs, letters, an other mementoes. My only fear is that casa morena may become too popular fo its own good (and my own!) as I plan to spend many more great weekends there myself...
