Centrally located in Seville, Esmeralda is placed in Macarena’s district, quite near the historic centre of Seville. The apartment is in a pedestrian street without heavy traffic around and is therefore very quiet and peaceful. It is beautiful and luminous. In less than ten minutes walking, you could find the historical medieval defensive walls, the Andalusian Parliament (in a sixteenth century hospital). The Cathedral and La Giralda tower can be found in less than thirty minutes walking, with a nice walk that leads through the narrow streets, pretty squares or the typical Andalusian houses that are so characteristic for Seville. Esmeralda is a spacious apartment for up to eight people. With three separate bedrooms, it is the perfect living space for a large family or group of friends who might prefer to have the communal living area completely separate to their sleeping space. This apartment has been reformed and refurnished with convenience and comfort in mind.

Should you want to use Seville as a base for exploring Andalucia, Jerez is only a 30 min journey; Cordoba, Cadiz and Ronda are just over one hour away and Granada is approximately 2 hours drive (Cadiz 75 miles, Cordoba 85 miles, Gibraltar 120 miles, Jerez 55 miles, Malaga 130 miles, Marbella 120 miles, Ronda 80 miles, Sotogrande 126 miles, Granada (and Sierra Nevada) 160 miles). Costa de la Luz is one hour away. Costa del Sol is 2.5 hours away. Seville has main golf courses. My 2 friends and I booked this apartment months ago for 4 nights Oct 24 -28. A week before we left home we recieved an e mail saying there was a problem and this apartment was not available to us, but one 'just as comfortable' would be made avaialbe to us. At that late point, we had to agree as we didn't have time to get another apartment. Upon arrival in Seville we were taken to the old city to an ancient building with a 2 bedroon instead of 3 bedroom apartment, nothing like the one we booked. It had one good size bedroon and the other had two futons and not even room for a suitcase. The bathroom had no tub which was important to one of us and there was mold in the shower. The cupboard under the sink smelled of mildew. We stayed one night and called the landlord asking to move us. He had nothing else to offer us, so we stayed for the 4 nights. It was a big disappointment as the apartment we had booked had good reviews and looked like one we would enjoy. So be carefull if offered a substitute apartment.
Owner's Response: We want to say that we have a problem in the apartment so we offered the possibility of another apartment in Seville: this apartment was better because it was nearer the Cathedral (just two minutes walking) and in a ground floor (one of the ladies has problems with climbing stairs) which was the only requirement they made when they book the apartment. Anyway when they arrive to Seville, we explain again the situation and show them the substitute apartment and it was “perfect” for them. They also ask us about where they could see a flamenco show. Obviously, we proved the apartment before their arriving and it was in perfect conditions: clean, tidy and ready for their use. I think that the question is that they pretend to stay one person per bedroom, paying only for two bedrooms: it is difficult to control where the people sleep in our apartment, because the privacy of our customers is very important for us. Anyway, we assume that we must get the customers’ writing consent and not verbal as we did. We looked for a more expensive apartment (we paid the difference) nearer the city center in a less than 10-years reformed building with a magnificient “patio” and spectacular views over the Cathedral and Giralda tower. In any case, the customers don’t mention about the help we provide them at their departure with their lost train tickets. Anyway, we apologize if this really disappointed them.

Stay in Seville

The flat is not exactly in the center of Seville as it is stated in the title. The flat is located in the macarena area which is in the north of the city. To go to the center you need to take at least one bus or you need to hire a bicycle (if you do not get lost in the streets of Seville you can get to the Alcazar within 20min). We recommend you to use the bicycle - "Sevici" - It is cheap and really easy to use.

The place is in general okay but the household electrical appliances in the kitchen are old and would need to be renewed - For instance, the wire of the toaster was surrounded with sellotape which is not really safe..
There is a computer connected to the Internet but the computer is really old so it runs really slowly. The Internet debit is decent so we ended up using our Itouch only to do all our researches.

Neat, Clean, Modern!!

This apartment was wonderful. It is very clean and nicely decorated. The TV has a lot of choices and the choice of language as well! We loved to cook in the totally fully equiped kitchen. The 3 bedrooms were neat and fine for our family of 4. It also has a computer we all were able to use! The parking for our rental car was not a problem either, since we were able to find parking on the street. We would stay there again. Jesus is very helpful too and allowed us to pay with Paypal, which was very convenient. There are several restaurants and a grocery store nearby. The bus stop is only a 3 minute walk from the apartment. It has an elevator too which came in handy with all the suitcases we had. We loved it!

Clean and spacious

Our family of four stayed here for four nights during holy week and it was great. The kids enjoyed having a bedroom of their own and we could save money by making meals here. On the edge of the city, it is only a 10-15 minute bus ride into town. We only took a taxi once. Jesus will point you to some good neighborhood restaurants, though they can be smoky (often hard to avoid in Spain). If you drive there (like we did), free parking is available on the street, though it can be in high demand. We were lucky and found spots quite close to the apartment. We had a great day trip to the coast in Portugal while we were there, spending time on the beach in Fuseta (a water taxi will take you to the barrier island) and a great meal in Olhao (Kinka's restaurant).
The owner was very friendly and helpful. He allowed us to use Paypal for our deposit, which was convenient and avoided any currency exchange fees.
