Ideally situated with easy reach from airports at Nimes, Montpellier and Marseille. 80 minutes from the beautiful beaches of the Camargue. Close of the foothills of the Cevennes. The towns of Ales, Nimes and Uzes offer stacks of history and the Provencal market in Uzes is renowned. 40 minutes drive to the Pont du Gard. 1 hour from Orange & Avignon and only 40 minutes from Nimes. This area of the southern France offers blue skies for most of the year. The summers are comfortably hot often with a breeze. Winters are cold, but still with beautiful blue skies and snow is possible. The local area is stacked with history much of which dates back to the Romans. There is plenty to do for those who enjoy culture with Montpellier and Nimes both easy distance away. For those looking for complete relaxation, the house is both private and quiet in the heart of an old village and 3 minutes walk from the Boulangerie. For the real side of French life, there are many markets and restaurants.

    This will be returned subject to no damage or breakages (please ask for our Rental Terms & Conditions) within14 days of the end of the rental period.

    Electricity consumption & LPG consumption are metered. A set amount of each is included and a charge is made for units used in excess of these set amounts.
  • Change over day is a Saturday.
    The property will be available from 4pm on the day of arrival.
    The time of departure on the departure day is 10am.
    Bed linen & bath towels/mats are provided.
    Pool Towels are provided.

    Our house keeper is available for housework and baby sitting if required during your stay.

  • Bedroom 1, over looks the magnificent views of the Cevennes mountains. There is an extra large antique French sleigh-style bed measuring 10 x 200 cm. The matress is 25cm thick. The bedroom has a walk-through dressing room and its own en-suite shower room with a loo and large walk-in open shower. The counter top in the shower room has a rustic chic plaster finish and an over-sized rectangular basin. Bedroom 2 is has a clean white finish with a large double bed and an antique chaise-longue. The en-suite bath/shower room is finished in grey slate and mirror and the oval basin sits on marble. Bedroom 3 has a bunk-bed plus a single bed and a further bed can be provided for another child if required. It has an en-suite bath/shower room finished in white. Bedroom 4/Playroom is on the ground floor and has a comfortable double sofa bed. It is close to the downstairs cloakroom. High quality bed linen and bath towels are all provided. A baby travel cot can also be made available.

La Ferme Du Soleil is a special place. Arriving through the grand wrought iron gates into the central courtyard shaded by the wise magnificence of a great horse chestnut tree you are assaulted by the best view I have ever seen. 80km to the great peaks of the Cevennes, a seemingly endless ascending succession of hills catching every light and shadow imaginable, you are rooted to the spot, and just sitting back on one of the luxurious sun-loungers with a glass of the local wine, a basket of fresh bread and a bowl of virgin olive oil at hand seems the best objective for the entire vacation. But once you've managed to pry yourself away from the glory of it, you find a beautiful mas enfolding the courtyard incorporating and extended from a C17th silk mill which has been converted into a calm and elegant family home. It flows beautifully and feels easy to occupy. All the rooms are spacious and have charm, but the centre of the house is the kitchen diner, a superb vaulted 15m room with a space age kitchen at one end. Acres of grounds planted with olives and an intimate sun-soaked pool area complete the vision of the perfect hideaway. We've rented Renaissance castles and Venetian palaces, but La Ferme Du Soleil is the finest discovery we've made.

Almost too beautiful. It felt bad to leave!

The most beautiful view I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot! The courtyard is paradise on earth with a huge spreading oak tree giving shade and contemplation. A place to sunbathe, eat, drink, drink in the view and just chill. The house, partly an ancient silk factory, is exquisitely renovated with a wonderful state-of-the-art kitchen/diner. The pool has the view as well, and the four acre garden has an olive plantation. The bakery is a few steps away down the village street. The weather is stunning, and the local sights - Uzes, Nimes, scenery etc, superb. What more could you ask for?
The best venue for a holiday I've ever had.
