Notes: Villa Claudia is one of four villas built in the 1800s by the patriarch of an old Niçoise family intending to leave one for each of his daughters, - at this time the area was olive groves and fields with a smattering of villas - a dusty dirt road leading away from the port of Nice to the small fishing village of VilleFranche beyond. With the passage of time Nice has grown spreading and encompassing the surrounding fields and groves, no longer the small resort town favoured by the English for their winter retreats - it is now an exciting busy cosmopolitan city with something for everyone. Surrounded by the growing city these villas have remained a unique pocket of yesteryear, a haven of peace and tranquility, a drop of greenness -where it is possible to experience a glimpse of its rich past, yet stepping out you are within minutes of everything modern day Nice has to offer too.

Skiing: There are 5 ski resorts accessible from Nice - Isola 2000, Valberg, Auron, Greolieres and Limone in Italy. All between 1 - 2 hours drive from Nice and Villa Claudia.

Grand Prix, Monaco: Villa Claudia is on the Nice to Monaco bus and train route. For those unable to pay the higher prices of Monaco, Villa Claudia makes an perfect alternative. 15 miles or 20 mins by car and along one of the worlds most picturesque routes.

Very nice stay, friendly surroundings, professional and nice contacts (Jimin/David).
Needs some refurbishing/painting/floor treatment etc. but overall a very nice and relaxing place to stay.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Romantic Getaway

The apartment is kitted out with a mixture of decor/furniture that work together to produce a feeling of being in a pretty relaxed, trendy & clean student/young professional home.......if you're looking for a clinical modern apartment, this is not for you, but if you want to feel relaxed straight away it's ideal.
The kitchen is fully equipped for meals at home to enjoy with the big dining/living room windows producing a great breeze. We spent most of our time at the table outside the front door. The garden is pretty but it didn't add a huge amount of value to our visit as there is no opportunity to sun bathe and is quite small, but would be an lovely setting for a quiet meal.

The location in terms of 'Nice' is great and very well connected to Monaco; it's quieter than the Old Town, but is a good (lovely round the main port) 20 minute walk to the promenade if you're looking for sun loungers and big, stoney beeches. If you want to be surrounded by French locals, the location is perfect as it's very residential and the closest Port restaurants are filled with locals.

If you end up booking this, look out for the elderly french lady neighbor....we helped her up the steps with her shopping and she nearly cried with gratitude!

great holiday in villa claudia

I went to Nice last october, it was very warm.
Villa Claudia was located in an amazing area. You have almost one foot in the sea.
Every morning, when I woke up, I can see the sea from the lounge, then I have breakfast in the garden in the sunshine and a bird sang a song on the tree.
I really recommend Villa Claudia, everyone was very kind and the place was clean. You really are in old provence yet with all the ammenities of a big city.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing
