The local area: Frigiliana is a charming Andalucian village Known as the Pearl of Axarquia whose Moorish architecture dates back 5000 years, nestled into the foothills of the Almijara Mountains at the edge of the Sierra Tejada National Park. With something for everyone Frigiliana is a paradise. For walkers and mountain bikers with enchanting walks and rides for all abilities starting right in the village. For historians and culturalists the Moorish past remains visible today. Day Trips and a bit further afield : Within a short drive are several whitewashed mountain villages each with their own charm and many like Competa and Algaborro are on the famous “Ruta de Vino” (wine route) The awe inspiring Nerja Caves, are a fascinating, network of cathedral like underground caverns with the World's biggest stalactites. Peace and quiet!

Sue & Andy Maidstone
Review Submitted: September 8, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
We had a great holiday - the villa is in such a peaceful, quiet position just above Frigiliana with wonderful views of the mountains and sea. The villa itself had everything you could possibly need - just like home from home -a very well stocked kitchen (although we didn't actually use it very much!). The outside space makes this villa a really excellent place to stay - especially the outdoor kitchen with BBQ and fridge which was so useful. The pool area was fantastic spotlessly clean and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Frigiliana is the most delightful village and the locals are so friendly - we were very lucky to be there during the festival of three cultures, which was wonderful. The only negative was the shortage of water during our second week, but Boz and Jose did all they possibly could to sort the problem which was really beyond their control. I'm sure we will visit Frigiliana again and have 'sold' the village and the villa to all our friends.

Absolutely idylic!!!!!!

Review Submitted: August 30, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
My family holidayed here in August 2009.
The listing, albeit accurate, did not do the villa justice. On arriving at the villa we were so impressed we were instantly relaxed. Boz's directions were great. He met us at a suitable meeting point and took us onto the villa.
We had requested a few provisions and they were happy to oblige (Just for the record we paid. Didn't want anyone think it was in with villa price etc!!!!)
The villa itself was absolutely perfect. Clean, excellent kitchen applicances an d amenities. Both bedrooms were cosy and the air conditioning helped us sleep contentedly.
The villa, pool and outside kitchen are well planned and well built. Extremely safe and clean pool.
Easy access into Frigliani village which is beautiful and picturesque. Although you can walk into the village we felt in the heat of the high summer sun it was a little too far but within quick and easy access by car. Also easy access into Nerja and local supermarkets.
Tranquill, relaxing two weeks. What more could we ask for. Should we have needed any assistance Boz stressed he was always at the end of the phone. When TV lost it's channels, we contacted Boz and by the end of the day it had been put right, with no inconvenience to us at all.
We would certainly recommend the villa for anyone wanting a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Nothing interferred with our relaxed mode. We enjoyed our stay that much we are returning in summer 2010 and we have never done that before.
Thank you for a spendid holiday.

Tranquility

Catman Falkirk, Stirlingshire, Scotland
Review Submitted: May 4, 2009 Date of Stay: April 2009
Peace and quiet, birds singing and wonderful views. The location is excellent and the property private, all one needs for a 'get away' holiday, yet close enoughto the town for those seeking some nightlife. The rustic feel of the villa makes you relax as soon as you arrive. Both bedrooms are spacious with good wardrobe space, as is the shower room, the shower itself being of a good size. Lounge/kitchen cosy (we lit the fire on two occasions, making it really cosy). Kitchen has everything one needs to 'cook at home'. The property was clean and well presented, the added touch of a vase of wild flowers adding a real welcome factor. The outside space is really good, and the wee 'reading' area under the Pine tree a place to relax with a good book, glass of wine and forget about the world for a while. Pool/BBQ area also good and a great place to catch the sun and wind down, with a 'fridge handy to keep the beer/wine cool and the food to cook on the BBQ. Outside the front door a little border planted up with herbs to use in your cooking. The grounds are well kept with good planting around. Granada, Gibralter, Ronda, Crodoba and for the more adventureous, Sevilla are all within 1hr - 2.5 hrs drive away. All in all a good, quiet, peaceful location surrounded by nature.

A Lovely Villa in a Perfect Location!

Lyn and Bob Bellerby, North Yorkshire, England
Review Submitted: March 9, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
We really landed lucky with this wonderful villa - we had booked it for a week, but ended up deciding to stay for two weeks! The villa is set above the beautiful village of Frigiliana and has views towards the sea. We found the setting perfect for us - lovely and peaceful, but within a very short distance of Frigiliana, Nerja, the sea, the mountains, shopping, cafes, restaurants - everything is nearby but just far enough away to enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside. We loved the fact that we could forget the car if we wanted to and do lots of walking from the villa. We were delighted to discover that we could easily walk into Frigiliana, and also enjoyed many beautiful walks in the surrounding hills straight from our doorstep. The villa itself is delightful. Both the interior and exterior are beautifully presented, immaculately maintained, and provide everything you could possibly want for a lovely relaxing stay. We were there in January and really appreciated the log fire to keep us cosy in the evenings. The pool and gardens are lovely and although we didn't quite get warm enough weather to use the swimming pool, we did enjoy lounging by it on several occasions! We were made to feel very welcome by Boz and Polly who look after the villa. And when we needed some extra heating due to the unusually cold conditions this winter, they quickly organised everything for us - and Polly even supplied us with hot water bottles for a bit of extra cosiness on our first night! The owners have gone to a lot of trouble to make this villa special - the decor is lovely, with so many thoughtful touches. Nothing seems too much trouble for Boz, Polly or Jose to make you feel comfortable and welcome. Boz enjoys the great outdoors and gave us lots of useful advice about local walks. Overall our stay was wonderful, despite the fact that winter 2009 has been a particularly cold one - even in Southern Spain - we were warm and cosy and very happy! I must just add that we stumbled upon The Garden Restaurant in Frigiliana. Not only does it have a gorgeous terrace, spectacular views, friendly and helpful staff, it also serves the most delicious food at incredibly reasonable prices. The only downside was that it's an outdoor restaurant so only opens 'weather permitting' in the winter -pity - because we think that if it had been open every day - we probably would have eaten there every day of our holiday! It all adds up to two very happy customers!
