It is a bright, lovingly prepared studio apartment on the upper floor of a rustic farmhouse made of natural stone. Access by independent external staircase. Living with a double bed. Kitchen and bathroom, with its own small library. There is a view from the apartment and terrace overlooking the sea and the Aeolian Islands. The country house stands on a large plot with Mediterranean vegetation such as palms, bananas and cacti and overlooks the sea. The property is located in a quiet location just outside of the somewhat higher pottery village of S. Stefano di Camastra.

The town of Santo Stefano di Camastra is known for its Majolica-pottery, that has originated from here for more than 300 years, mainly because of the local clay deposits. Two stylishly renovated ancient palaces are home to a well-equipped museum and a historic library. Friendly cafes invite you to linger. In the many ceramics shops there is surely something for everyone's taste. The area around the house is still dominated by agriculture and also provides the opportunity to purchase fresh vegetables. Trip destinations: Cefalú, the historical city visited by Goethe, between the sea and the massive 270-m-high rock 'Rocca di Cefalú'; Tindari, the sanctuary of a black Madonna and grandiose view to the Aeolian islands and the nearby sand lagoons; Nebroden-Park with its large cork oak forests and the Madonien Park with dramatic cliffs, hiking and good hearty cuisine.

Notes: It is a high bright studio apartment with terrace, with views over the coast and sea. You reach the apartment by an exterior staircase from the garden. The equipment is kept simple but comfortable, with Maio Lika tiles decorated in the well-equipped kitchen area and guest WC, plus wooden beams structure. The apartment has a double bed and possibly an additional single bed, 2 tables with accompanying chairs, a large wooden cupboard, a built-in wardrobe, and a small library. The sleeping area is defined by a curtain. The terrace has a shelter for the sun if required and also has a table and chairs. Our place has a ceramic workshop. For artistically interested guests there would be the opportunity for any creative activity involving ceramics.

Location: Our garden plot is located by the sea and has many warm sun and shade areas, which the guests can use. The wide view of the Tyrrhenian Sea in the summer months allows you to enjoy the sunrise over the sea and the sunset over the sea. We have a small pottery workshop and the possibility of creative activity. For those interested in visiting the island's main city of Palermo or other points along the north coast of Sicily, they can use their own cars or the property has easy access to the railways.

Bernhard Hagemann aus München: 'Wenn man eine Zeit im 'Schönen Gartenhaus' am Meer verbringt, so tauscht man die Hektik und Ruhelosigkeit des hetzenden Alltags mit der Ruhe und Kraft der alten sizilianischen Erde und wandelt am Wasser unter weitem, blauen Himmel zwischen riesigen Kakteen, Palmen und Eukalyptusbäumen, und gelangt unaufhaltsam zu einer großen, reinigenden Gelassenheit und spürt, wie sehr viel mehr das Wenige sein kann'. * * * Wolfgang Eggersdorfer aus Hannover: 'Sizilien ist schön, S.Stefano di Camastra ist schöner, das Gäste-Gartenhaus am Meer ist am schönsten. Es steht recht schmuck in einer prachtvollen Pflanzenoase. Wer kommen möchte, sollte etwas Spezielles suchen. Man muß das elementare Leben lieben, die Ruhe, die Natur, das Meer - also weitgehend touristenfreie Zonen. Ich kann diesen Platz denen, die das wahre einfache Sizilien suchen, sehr empfehlen.'
