Wood burning stove. 2 double bedrooms. 1 fully tiled bathroom with shower/bath/bidet. Fully fitted modern kitchen. Overhead fans and electric radiators in each room. Terrace from lounge overlooks mountain view. Spiral staircase leads to very large top terrace with stunning views over bay, mountains and village. Lift to first floor apartment. Free parking outside in square. 8 minutes drive down one way street to beach/village. Also accessible by steep village steps for the young and hardy - not for older clients. Children's park by roadside parking. Suit sunbathers and shade lovers alike as top terrace has sun all day long and lounge terrace gets sun in mid-afternoon. Patio table/chairs/sun chairs.

Our penthouse apartment is located at the top of Las Maravillas area which looks out to the right to the mountains, left to the Punta del la Mona area and straight ahead to the bay of La Herradurra. We are situated at the top of the local village with narrow streets leading up to it. Great for walking through all the original streets of the village where the local Spanish live and where no cars fit. Perfectly placed for driving east to Alumencar and west to Nerja. An easy drive to the port and beach of Marina del Este - a very pretty port with superb yachts, a nice sheltered beach and restaurants. Only 15 minutes walk to the promenade and beach of La Herradura as well. Quiet location with fantastic views (especially from the huge garden rooftop terrace.

Notes: Apartment has lift which makes it easy for older clients but there is a spiral staircase to upper terrace which might make it difficult for clients with mobility problems. Lower covered terrace very accessible and easy access to apartment on the level. For winter rentals there are electric radiators in all rooms and a tiled stove which makes the lounge very cosy. For summer there are overhead fans in all rooms and as the apartment is located at the top of the village there is a good breeze. Fresh bed linen and bath/beach towels are included.They are cleaned before and after rentals. If desired a cleaning service any time during your stay is available upon request. Typical charge for full clean is £40. Hair-dryer available. Traveling cot available. High chair on request. Smokers are kindly asked to use top terrace. Barbecue is on top terrace. Lounge has large sliding doors leading to lower balcony which is superb for all outdoor eating with fabulous mountain views.

La Herradura is a quiet horseshoe bay nestled between majestic mountains and towns of Nerja and Almunecar. Nerja is a very lively beautiful tourist town and Almunecar a popular Spanish beach resort. La Herradura has a horseshoe pebble beach with chiringuitos for long leisurely meals. On the back of the promenade are a host of inexpensive restaurants and bars. Not known to be a nightlife resort but very popular with Spanish from Granada at weekends. Daily vegetable, bread and fish market. 1 hours drive from ski resort in Sierra Nevada. 8 minutes drive to Marina del Este - a small sailing port with restaurants and alternative beach (for when it is windy in LH). 15 mins drive from mountain village of Frigliana. Weekly markets in Nerja & Almunecar. Water in the Med is fresh and cold in all seasons. Local restaurants specialise in fresh fish. Superb for deep sea diving, mountain trekking, wind-surfing, canoeing, para-gliding and sailing. Paradise for chilling out.

The mountains are spectacular and are especially popular in the mild winter months for hikers from all over Europe. A superb base for a walking/hiking holiday in the off season months. Sking is excellent in the Sierra Nevada mountains - now with the new road barely 50 minutes drive from La Herradura.

A little piece of Paradise at the top of the hill

Our penthouse apartment was everything we expected and more. The description of the apartment was completely accurate. It was spotlessly clean and was exactly as we had been advised. We were directed to the apartment by a very nice, polite, young lady who gave us her mobile no., should we have any problems but, thankfully, our holiday went very smoothly.

We hired a car at Malaga Airport. One would need a car as it is quite hilly. We had been advised of this beforehand. We ate, most nights, at the Califa Restaurant where we had a very reasonably priced meal, and the owner was a very polite young man who looked after us well.

We hope to stay in the apartment again and would definitely recommend it to our friends.

We went to the pebble beach every day, and found the light breeze refreshing in the heat. The village-type atmosphere of the resort is great and if you're looking for a relaxing, quiet holiday to recharge the batteries, this is the place to go.

A very clean and nice flat. Good service, good contacts.
The flat has a great view and a nice terasse.

La herradura is a calm place but for the one looking for beach and sun it is nice.

Great Apartment Great Place

We stayed in mid August and it was extremely hot over 40 degrees every day so its fantastic for a sun lover

The apartment is very clean and well kept with everything you need, there are fans in the 2 bedrooms and we were never too hot during the night.

The roof terrace is a great sun trap and if you want to be out of the sun then the other balcony is a nice cool area.

We didn't hire a car and found the bus transfers from the airport were a fantastic service and very well priced, however we would recommend hiring a car (they were very expensive during August though) we were ok as we are all young and reasonably fit however you would not want to walk up and down that hill too many times in the day!! Even hiring a scooter would be an idea as parking by the beach was very hard to find.

We enjoyed our stay in this well maintained, clean and stylish apt. in La Herradura very much. The kitchen is very well equipped. The roof terrace with sea view is wonderful. It is a perfect place for relaxation and well-being. The apt. is on the top of the village. It is a ten minutes walk to the village, but the stairs and streets are very steep.

We can definitely recommend this apartement.
