Rocha Brava 4* Resort:

Carvoeiro :
Carvoeiro is a charming little fishing village right in the heart of the Algarve, only 3 km west of Rocha Brava. It is easily accessible and only a 20 minute walk from the complex or take the free courtesy bus from Rocha Brava which runs 3x daily, or for a lovely views you can walk along the cliff tops down into the village. Carvoeiro has plenty for everyone, the beautiful sandy beach is nestled between two cliffs on either side, with pedelos and loungers and umbrellas to hire. There are plenty of shops, banks, a tourist info, post office and cafes and restaurants galore which provide an amazing choice of places to eat and drink. There are bars and entertainment of an evening and Carvoeiro square where you can sit and relax and watch the entertainment in the summer months.
Further Afield:
North of Carvoeiro is Lagoa, the wine capital of the Algarve, with wine tasting shops and a good market. Just north of here brings you to Silves, the ancient Moorish capital of the Algarve. Overlooking the valley of the Rio Arade. Silves has typical narrow streets, a colourful market and lots of cafes and great restaurants. Further west is Lagos one of the most attractive coastal towns on the Algarve. It has a marina, fishing port, churches, castle, lots of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants and a newly restored market. Inland from Lagos is Monchique and the Caldas de Monchique, famous for its warm mineral waters. There are some beautiful walks from here through the wooded valleys in the foothills of the Serra Monchique. At the south west of Portugal you will find the most westerly point of continental Europe - St.Vincent. The towering cliffs here are stunning and this is the perfect place for surfing, or if you enjoy walking visit the National Park which surrounds this area.
Golf:
The picturesque Vale de Milho golf course is a testing 9 hole par 3 course and within easy walking distance of the complex. Two 18 hole courses Vale de Pinta and Gramacho are close to Carvoeiro (5kms). There are discounts available on green fees at most courses in the area. Championship courses are available at Penina (25 mins) and Quinta de Lago (30 mins). Many other courses are within a 30 - 40 mins drive away.
