A south-facing 100 sq/mtrs canal side apartment on the Dorsoduro, which is one of the quietest and most sought-after areas of Venice. The apartment lies 2 minutes from the delightful Zattere and 1 minute from charming Campo Santa Margherita. It is close to all the major sights, but away from the main tourist traps, making a stay here restful even in the busiest months. The whole interior has recently been restored (2007). Rooms are bright and spacious and most have moulded plaster ceilings with old Murano chandeliers; floors are of travertine limestone, carrara marble or ceramic sandstone. 2 of the 3 bedrooms look out over the canal and the living room has a very large comfortable sofa bed. The apartment has a separate well-equipped kitchen. Other features include wi-fi internet, flat-screen TV, DVD player and stereo, film library and a comprehensive selection of Venetian-themed books. The apartment is beautifully furnished throughout with a mixture of contemporary and antique styles.

Immediately outside the apartment is the church of San Sebastiano, whose celebrated interior was the 24-year-long project of local artist Veronese. Close by you'll also find the Academia and Guggenheim galleries, the Frari, the Scuola Grande di San Rocco and the Scuola Grande dei Carmini. The famous Ca' Rezzonico (including its useful vaporetto and traghetto stops) on the Grand Canal is a 2 minute walk away. 20 minutes on foot will take you to both San Marco and the Rialto.

This apartment is in a great location. About 5 minutes max from two main vaporetto stops, and the accademia bridge across the grand canal. Easy access to the main attractions, and near some great restaurants and shops. .Yet quiet and away from the maddening crowds. But, best of all for our party of 3 adults and 2 children was how well equipped the apartment is...from TV to DVD's and guide books right to washing machine and electrical socket adaptors and hairdryers, aircon and fans. This made everything so very easy! I would definitely recommended it.

Fantastic 5 days in Ca' San Sebastiano - great location, close to sights, shops, restaurants - but in quiet location. You really feel part of the local area. Warm, comfortable accomodation with all the bits and pieces needed for self catering, can't beat the deli counter at the local supermarket (Campo Santa Margharetia - 5 mins walk). Landlord friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

This is a large, warm and comfortable apartment conveniently located in the heart of Dorsoduro. The proximity of the San Basilio, Zattere and Ca’ Rezzonico vaporetti stops makes it an ideal base from which to explore any part of beautiful Venezia. My daughter and I found the immediate vicinity utterly charming, and were particularly taken with Campo San Barnaba a few minutes walk away. The close proximity of a supermarket was most welcome and the even closer greengrocer was greatly appreciated. Part of my heart will always be here. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property, and can hardly wait to return for a longer stay.

We spent a long weekend in this appartment in Venice and it lived up to all our expectations. The position was ideal - central, yet quiet. The rooms were clean, airy and spacious. The appartment has recently been done up to a very high standard and provided everything we needed.

The beds were made up ready for our arrival and clean towels were left on them. The owner has been very helpful throughout all my dealings with him.

I would highly recommend this appartment for families, couples, friends - just about everyone in fact. The only warning I would give is that, as it is next to the canal, people with young children should make sure they are closely supervised. This would apply to just about anywhere in Venice.

There are a few steps when you 1st enter the property, but apart from this, I would say that it would be suitable for people with mobility problems.
