Situated in the heart of the ‘Porte du Soleil’ ski area, the largest international ski area in the world, and an area of outstanding natural beauty, Morzine, which is only an hour’s drive from Geneva airport, retains all the charm and character of an old fashioned Alpine village.
Morzine is a traditional family ski resort. The architecture is distinctly Savoyarde, with beautiful old farmhouses and chalets throughout the town and clustered around the church of Sainte Marie Madeline.
The atmosphere is lively and unpretentious, and continues all year round. The weekly market is a good place to sample regional cheeses or charcuterie and the wide range of shops and boutiques are guaranteed to tempt the enthusiastic shopper.
There is a huge selection of night time activities for all tastes – from a quiet drink in a cosy bar or watching a night time ice hockey match, to two cinemas showing English films, live music, busy bars and nightclubs – not to mention the night time skiing!
