Our traditional Andalucian Cortijo provides 'home from home' self catering accommodation for 6 adults + infant. Situated at the end of a track with no passing traffic it consists of 2 houses, 1 of which is available for self-catering holidays. The other is the home of the owners who are on hand should you need any help and advice, but otherwise the facilities are exclusively yours to enjoy. Nestled amidst olive and almond groves with spectacular mountain views, the setting is very tranquil and there are many tracks where you can stroll freely. Relax and unwind around the very quiet and peaceful 10m x 5m private pool bordered by terracing and gardens, and with a covered kitchen/bar area and gas BBQ. Comfortable sun loungers are provided in both sunny and shady spots & there is plenty of outdoor space for dining and games such as pool, table tennis, etc, providing something for everyone to enjoy the al fresco lifestyle.

Only 40 minutes from Granada and 50 minutes from Malaga airports the location is ideally situated amid the unspoiled and dramatic scenery of Andalucia. Several tapas bars and restaurants are located within a 10 minute drive in the villages of Cuesta La Palma and Estacion de Salinas. The nearest main towns of Loja and Archidona are 20 minutes drive away and here you will find many more restaurants and tapas bars as well as several very good supermarkets, shops and banks. Horse riding and tennis are nearby and golf is available in Antequera, just 40 minutes drive away. We are 10 minutes from the main autoroutes leading to all the major tourist attractions of the area. These include Granada and the Alhambra Palace, Antequera with its many churches and ancient burial chambers, Ronda has its famous 'new' bridge, Cordoba boasts its impressive Arabian mosque, the beaches of the Costa del Sol, not forgetting Malaga and Seville, the very heart of Andalucian culture.

Skiing in the Sierra Nevada: The Sol y Nieve ski and snow boarding resort, situated south/east of Granada, is approximately 1hr 20 mins from the cottage. It is Europe’s most southerly ski venue and you will be surprised at the high air temperatures compared to other ski resorts in Europe. It is possible for you to spend your morning on the slopes and the afternoon around the pool sunbathing! A wide choice of runs are available making the resort suitable for skiers of all levels from beginners to the more seasoned enthusiast. Ski passes, hire of equipment and tuition are all available and are very inexpensive compared to other ski resorts. Sol y Nieve has a snow making system which means that the season can have quite a long season.

Walking Holidays: If you are interested in doing some walking during your holiday we offer 'guided walks' for all abilities. Each walk can be tailored to suit the capabilities of the party. As well as scenic walks in the nearby hills and countryside we also offer sightseeing walks. Enjoy an escorted walk around the sights of Granada with it's magnificent Alhambra Palace for example. If you prefer not to hire a car, airport transfers, shopping trips, day excursions or simply a ride to one of the local restaurants, can all be arranged for you.

A Fantastic Place

We have had the most fabulous time here and will certainly be back next year. We feel so relaxed after our time here,it was a real wrench to leave. A fabulous farmhouse which had everything we could have wanted and a pool area with breathtaking views.
Our favourite outings were the Alhambra and the walk we went on in the El Chorro gorge with the owners Tony & Gail - the views at the top were unbelievable - thank you for sharing that with us. Your hospitality and company has made everything so special for us - Thanks for everything.”

A lovely, relaxing holiday in an idyllic location - we all loved it. Gail & Tony were the perfect hosts, always on hand to help & with useful recommendations based on their local knowledge. The Alhambra was just one of the highlights of our stay. We also enjoyed the morning out at El Torcal (Tony took us!) preceded with “chocolate & churro’s” in Antequera. (ask Gail & Tony for the location!). We hope to come back soon.......

Lovely cottage in beautiful hills

We had a very relaxing week in this lovely cottage, which more than lived up to our expectations. The views & the gardens are beautiful and the pool perfect. It was wonderful to have such thoughtful & helpful hosts close by when we needed them. We had excellent days out in Granada & Cordoba (the Mesquita is amazing), which were easy drives - the cottage is only 10 minutes from the motorway. However we spent most of our time soaking up the sun in such peaceful surroundings or improving our skills on the outdoor pool table.
The cottage was well equipped and very comfortable, although the upstairs bedrooms were rather hot at bedtime - but then we had chosen a hot time of year to visit, with daytime temperatures in the shade of around 35deg C. However the downstairs was cool and there were plenty of shaded areas around the pool.
We'd love to go back to see the almond trees in blossom.
Owner's Response: Mid June to mid August produce the highest temperatures of the year here in Andalucia. Although the cottage does not have air conditioning, all the bedrooms are equipped with fans.

Quiet Relaxation

We cannot find any better words to describe our vacation here than the many wonderful words previously used. The cottage was a beautiful place to end a day of touring.

Tony & Gail were fantastic hosts and provided much valuable assistance with this, our first and definitely not last, visit to Spain. The poolside kitchen was a favorite each afternoon as we created our own version of tapas with everyone lending a hand.

We would recommend: Lobo Park, El Burrito Refugio and Meson de Estacion in Salinas.

We will spread the word about this wonderful place. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

holiday with a difference

it WAS different because from the moment we were collected at the airport and offered a refreshing drink in the car we realised that Gail and Tony had thought through very clearly how the luxurious extras make the difference between a pleasant holiday and a pampered one. Fresh flowers and fruit in the cottage; A delicious homecooked spanish meal on arrival; Best of all, the privacy of our own pool with bar and barbecue. Quality equipment and pool furniture added to the experience. The flowers in the surrounding gardens were a delight. We used their chauffer service jnstead of hiring a car. Stress free for people not familiar with the area. For us it was a complete chill out . We went home with batteries fully re charged.
