2009 EVENTS IN AND AROUND SOUTHSEA:
1 - 8 August: Cowes Week.The highlight of the yachting calendar. Over 1,000 boats in 40 different classes will take race this year in a stunning display of sail, speed and boatman ship.
Tall Ships in Gunwharf – take a trip on a tall ship or just admire them during 1-2 and 8-9 August, 12-13, 19-20 September.
Live at the Bandstand in Southsea – enjoy a wide range of music during August and September. Gigs include Country/Line dancing, Bollywood, Ska/Mod, Abba and Take That tribute bands. Admission is free to all these events.
Summer holidays at the Historic Dockyard – a vast number of topics for children during the holidays including arts and creativity, learning knots, learn how to navigate and lots of Mary Rose themed activities.
The Blue Reef Aquarium – visit Southsea’s famous aquarium and find out about the wonders of the deep. Join the Dawn patrols, enjoy a rock pool adventure or discover more about the ultimate predator during shark hour!
THE GREAT SOUTH RUN:
The Great South Run takes place in Southsea and Portsmouth during October this year. If you are travelling to the area for the run, why not stay in Venetian Gardens? The course is right in front of the apartment! If we are booked for this year, why not book for next year?
