The living space includes an elegantly decorated lounge/ dinning room overlooking the outdoor leisure area and heated swimming pool and large kitchen with adjoining breakfast room. Three sunlit bedrooms on 1st floor have each a balcony, 2 overlooking the pool and terrace,with relaxing pine wood views.A ground floor 4th bedroom has pool and terrace view. A large windowed basement has double sleeping sofa in games/reading area, plus fitness equipment and children's playroom. A Luxury Villa, Perfect for Families

Just returned from a wonderful week at Casa Das Macas; our party contained four adults and two children and there was plenty of room for everyone - both inside and out.

Marilia (who looks after the property) was incredibly helpful indeed, meeting us in Colares and guiding us to the villa on our first night and then answering questions and pointing us in the right direction to local attractions when we asked her. There was fresh soup and a welcome pack upon our arrival - which was a really nice touch - and meant we didn't have to go shopping on our first day!

The interior is fabulous with everything you could ask for and I would highly recommend Casa Das Macas to anyone wanting a luxury villa close to Sintra and the surrounding area.

Without doubt the best villa we have rented in Europe.

Child-friendly luxury villa

We stayed with six adults en two children (3 and 5 year).
The villa is located in a nice and quiet neighborhood. A rental car is a must (for the beach or for shopping).
The villa is wonderful. It's decorated fabulously. The pool was warm and even cleaned during the week we stayed. The villa looked new and clean.
We enjoyed the interior as we did the terrace.
There's a large children's playground in the lower floor and our children loved it!
We stayed for one week, but we easily could have stayed for far more weeks.

Un rêve éveillé...

Clairement le grand luxe. Nous y avons séjourné une semaine à 10 personnes au début juillet 2009. Villa ultra moderne tant dans son architecture extérieure qu'intérieure.
A peine arrivé, nous avons été acceuilli à bras ouvert. Vous êtes pris en charge par des gens merveilleux pour qui le don de soi coule dans leurs veines. En cas de problème, leur réactivitée est immédiate.
La maison est très propre, il n'y a vraiment rien à redire. Les photos (pour une fois) vous montre la maison telle qu'elle est, je dirai même qu'on est loin de la réalitée (il faut s'y trouver pour se rendre compte de l'ampleur de sa beautée). La piscine est chauffé et éclairé, les bains de minuit sont donc plus qu'apprécié. La cuisine est moderne: il ne manque rien, ni en service, ni même en ustensile. Nous avions un bébé de 18 mois avec nous, il s'est clairement régalé. Tout etait à disposition pour son bien être, son amusement et sa sécurité! Niveau Hi-fi, vous avez tout sur place afin de connecté un I-pod ou tout autre MP3 et avec un son ultra performant (home cinéma avec caisson de basse intégré). Pensez tout de même à rammener des câbles RCA si besoin... Connexion Wi-fi en 1 clic avec un réseau excellent, l'ordinateur portable est presque indispensable!!
A proximité de la plage, des commerces et à environ 30 minutes du centre de lisbonne, les routes sont faciles d'accès. Merci à nos hôtes (Marilia e José, obrigado pela sua optima hospitalidade, foi maravilhoso) pour leur gentillesse et professionnalisme.

Tout est dit. Laissez-vous tenter par cette aventure! Quant à nous, nous nous réveillons difficilement de ce doux rêve et avons d'ores et déjà pris rendez-vous à l'année prochaine!

Perfect holiday house for a family

My family stayed almost 2 weeks in June 2009. This was the perfect house for our 2 daughters, ages 2 and 4 (and also for us!). The pool can be closed, making it completely safe for children. The basement is just a paradise for the little ones. The rest of the house is fully equiped, making the stay easy and comfortable.
First day we got a welkom package from the owners, with soup, milk, rice... just the essential to make you feel at home. With the regular changing of sheets, towels, cleaning and gardening the whole service is just as good as a 5 stars hotel.
The location of the house is perfect if you want to visit Sintra, Cascais or Lisbon.
We higly recommend Casa das Macas to families with children. We will certainly come back.

Perfect Portugal Holiday!

My family and I stayed at Casa das Maçãs at the end of May 2009 and we loved our stay there! We have two young girls, ages 3 and 5, and we were travelling with another family with girls ages 4 and 7. The house is a dream for children (and adults)! The beautiful tile pool is heated, and there is a wonderful sand pit as well as swings and a slide in the backyard. The real bonus was the basement playroom that was full of toys and books (Potuguese) as well as coloring supplies, paper and modelling clay! Our children were able to creep out of bed in the morning and amuse themselves downstairs while the grown-ups lingered in bed a while longer. The house was even better than we imagined. The bedrooms were nicely decorated with very comfortable bedding and mattresses and the living room was very elegant and comfortable with all your mod cons (tv, dvd, speakers, and adult and kids DVDs in English). No problem connecting your ipod here! The kitchen is very spacious and well equipped with a lovely breakfast room attached. What really made the holiday was how welcoming and helpful the owners are. We were very well looked after, and welcomed on the first day with a beautiful Portuguese soup and bread sitting on the table ready to feed our hungry kids! The owners were able to organize experienced and competent babysitters for us and were happy to organize restaurant and taxi bookings as well. We have stayed in a number of self-catering properties and this is the first time we have been treated with such care--they have thought of everything! I would highly recommend a holiday here. The house is very well positioned for sightseeng in Sintra, Caiscais, and further up the coast.
