We're just back from a fortnights stay at Matagorda Bay over the New Year period. I have stayed in Matagorda and Puerto Del Carmen (PDC) many times and have to say this apartment was the best. It is very clean, lovely and fresh, with towels changed twice a week and the apartment cleaned to a good standard once a week. The bedroom and lounge area are really comfortable and spacious, the kitchen area has everything you need, but the best feature is the view from the balcony. It is truly breathtaking and I believe this apartment is situated on the best side of the complex. It gives a view spanning the Atlantic from the beach at Matagorda right down to the San Antonio hotel in PDC (with Fuerteventura in the distance) and round to the town of Tias which lies above PDC in the inland hills. We would have breakfast, lunch and dinner outside and wonder at the views through different stages of the day. This was particularly spectacular at midnight going into New Years day where the Fireworks display went on for about an hour in every direction we could look. The pool is a very good size with plenty of loungers (and they are comfy material ones, not the usual hard, plastic slatted type). Everyone round the complex and pool were very friendly and would gladly pass the time of day or leave you in peace if you wanted (or needed after a few too many the night before) and it is very, very peaceful. I found the side gate on the complex of great benefit for nipping out to the Matagorda shopping centre down at the beach or when coming back from a walk to PDC. The apartments are only 5-10 mins from the beach at Matagorda or 15-20 mins walk to Pocillos beach, and 45 mins leisurely stroll along the ocean-front Avenue to the heart of PDC new town, but the bus stop is 5 mins max from the apartment which will take you into PDC for a Euro or so, if you can't be bothered walking. We hired a car for the vacation and the car parking at the complex is great, always a space and right next to the entrance too. The Satellite TV in the apartment was great too. All the UK, Irish terrestrial channels...perfect to satisfy my other half's craving for Emmerdale and Corrie. I must say I enjoyed watching the weather reports on the News channel which reported Scotland was in the grip of the coldest temperatures for about 20 years, what a shame I thought. We'll certainly be back and I will certainly recommend this apartment to our family & friends. Well done.
