Corralejo holiday villa: Tamaragua, La Capellania,Corralejo

My husband and I spent a week at Ian's villa - and what a fabulous week we had! The villa is beautifully furnished and very well maintained. A perfect home from home.
Plenty of books, videos, playstation games and childrens games for those who get bored lazing around in the sun. We loved playing with the table football out in the garden!
The swimming pool is lovely - and although heated - was not warm enough for my husband!
The complex which the villa is on has lots of villas and does look like they are quite close together - but once in the villa and garden we felt it was very private and nice and quiet (although that would depend on who may be next door and opposite).
Most of the retail units at Tamargua are still empty. There was an English bar called 'Shooters' - Mark who runs it is a great guy - shows lots of sports on telly - does a great "sausage & mash" on Thursday nights! There is also a Spanish bar called "Abuelos" - they do good tapas and is a great place for practising speaking Spanish. There was also an internet cafe, and a well stocked supermarket.
We hired a car to explore the island - but you can get around the island quite easily by bus. A taxi journey into Correlejo cost about 5 euros.
All in all the villa was a perfect location for our holiday - very relaxing!
We will definately be going back some time soon!

The property is just as advertised, excellently maintained and decorated with all mod con. Lots of space and well equipped for dining and relaxing both indoors and out. The pool is a must when the temperature gets warm for sitting out.
It was beautifully clean on our arrival, with a bottle of bubbly to welcome us.
A good supermarket is within walking distance and all the shops you could need are a short drive down to Corralejo.
Sand dunes to explore and good sandy beaches for sail surfing are equally near.
The property is looked after by expats who live locally and, having met them, I'm sure they would be very helpful should you have any problems (unlikely).
We spent mornings driving all over the island and back after lunch to relax by the pool.

First of all a car is essential!
Secondly when you book a 5* villa, you don't always expect to get 5* but this villa certainly ticks all the boxes when it come to quality, comfort, and cleanliness.

Couldn't get the children out of the pool or off the Playstation (just imagine what it would have been like if the Playstation was waterproof)

Tony Romas serves great food, the Piri Piri restaurant looks shabby but the food is lovely and plenty of it!
Stay away from La Luna, near the harbour, we were served raw pork, not good!

We would recommend comming after March, if you want the waterpark.
The rock wall is a must, as is El Campanario on a Sunday, plenty of bouncy castles to keep the children amused, great music, drink and food to keep the adults amused.

Best beaches are at El Cotillo

We will be back in October and can thoroughly recommend the villa to anyone wanting to visit Corralejo.
