Ski the Grand Massif:
The French Alps have been famous for many years for the quality of skiing to be found. We are very well positioned for you to ski a variety of resorts from our self catering apartment. Some of these resorts include: Les Carroz (just less than 15 minutes), Flaine and the Grand Massif domain (30 minutes), Les Gets (20 minutes), Morzine (25 minutes), Megeve (40 minutes), Chamonix (45 minutes).Within an hours' travelling is Contamines and St Gervias, beautiful traditional spa villages. Visit the traditionally French resorts of La Clusaz and Grand Bornand, still little known to most British people. Huge ski area easily accessible.
From December 2009 you will be able to enjoy pre prepared Cordon Bleu cooking at the apartment: it will be delivered to the door with instructions on what to do next. Birthday? Anniversary? Or just have a night off and let someone else do the cooking. Menus and further information available on request.
Golf:
There are numerous golf courses within easy travel of our self catering apartments. Stay here and visit the following courses: Flaine at 1844 metres, Les Gets, Chamonix, Megeve, Annecy and Thonon. Switzerland is a short drive away and again accessible for a day's golfing in superb countryside.
Activities:
This part of the Alps is well known for its activities. You can have thrills on paragliders, rafting the rivers, mountaineering or rock climbing. Gentler activities such as walking, cycling, tennis, horse riding are also available. Of course you can just sit and enjoy the beautiful scenery or go touring for lakes and forests and plateaus full of history.
The 17th Stage Mountain Day of the 96th Tour de France 2009 took place in this area and went past our lane. Come and ride the passes that Lance Armstrong, Mark Cavendish & Wiggins have completed. Just released, the information for Tour de France 2010 and gues what? It passes close to the apartments again, this year through the Col de Chatillon on the way from Avoriaz to Cluses. Book early to make sure you are in the area when this amazing event takes place. This is in July.
Also information about the 2010 Dauphine cycle race in June: this year this has a higher profile and finishes in Sallanches, a 20 minute drive away.
Golf:
The French Alps have some superb, world class golf courses, and there are numerous close to us. Below are some of the ones that are within an hours' drive of the apartment. For more information on each course, go to their website that we have included. For golfing we offer various packages: self catering accommodation only when you drive yourself: airport pick up, self catering accommodation and transfers to and from a different golf course of choice or a mix of both. Contact us for more details. Some golf courses have been established for many years, some only open when the snow has gone. Try golfing in the Alps, you can't beat the views and challenge of some courses.
